Sometimes the DVD is not recognized in Explorer as DVD but CD, this will be set right once you put in a DVD-disc.
BUT - there is also an issue when Explorer totally loses the ability to find your CD and DVD. Probably after a virus infection that has been eliminated by your anti-virus program, thus also removing these devices from Explorer. You will find them in Device Manager, but not in Explorer. You can't upgrade drivers, they already have the latest drivers...
If this is the case - go online and search for "CD and DVD-fix", - install it, and your back on the track again!
