Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55 Digital Camera

My pictures are too big

When I take pictures sometimes when I want to look at them sometimes the pictures are as if it is thumbnail version and it wont let me zoom in. Also some of the images are broken up. I have tried reformatting the memory card twice now and the problem is still happening. Is there any thing that I can do?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

JPEG doesn't show picture

Paula,
The pictures should be called xxxxxx.jpg. These are not the thumbnails. Your computer can always make thumbnails, but the jpg files should have a name and at least some content.
If you can't view the pictures, please don't delete the pictures on the card and please don't format the card.
Again try to copy the pictures to your computer, to a different folder and use the file browser to see how the pictures look.
If you deleted the pictures don't make any pictures on the card and use a recover program to retrieve the pictures. Almost every memory card firm does have such a program.

On these sites you find software to recover files (pictures and more) from a "damaged" memory card or even from a hard drive.
free software to recover your files on a memory card:
www.cardrecovery.com
www.wondershare.net with free trail
www.cardrescue.com with free evaluation version
http://www.memorycard.freedatarecoverysoftware.org
Some programs will show the deleted files, but only recover a few files. If you want to recover more files they want you to pay. If so, try another program on the list.

How to clear the thumbnail cache in Windows Vista Clearing the thumbnail...

How to clear the thumbnail cache in Windows Vista pdf_button.png printbutton.png Clearing the thumbnail cache:
Windows keeps a copy of all of your picture, video, and document thumbnails so they can be displayed quickly when you open a folder. If you delete the thumbnail cache, they will be automatically created when needed. The thumbnail preview problems can be resolved by clearing the thumbnail database and let the system rebuild it as and when required.
To do so, use these steps:
Click Start, type cleanmgr and press ENTER

Click My files only

Select the system drive letter from the drop-down list

Uncheck all the entries except Thumbnails

Click OK

The thumbnail database is stored globally in Windows Vista, unlike Windows XP, where the thumbnail database is stored on a per-folder basis. In Windows Vista, the default Thumbnail cache location is mentioned below:
%LocalAppData%MicrosoftWindowsExplorer

May be that the original picture is low resolution to allow it to be e-mailed.

After I had my Picture Recovered, pictures, in thumbnail, show fully, and suddenly it get half Gray. Even when I open it, it's still half gray.

You're not really being clear here on what happened; some Flash Media issue where you had to recover your images and recovery went oddly? If you get into the category for what software you're trying to get to do your bidding (you haven't said, so far) that will be a big step towards seeing useful and relevant results!

As I connect the camera to the computer, the recent pictures I to

From the question, I'm going to assume we're dealing with some kind of digital camera despite the fact that you posted the question in a film camera thread.

It seems as if the computer operating system or whatever program you're using is displaying cached thumbnails. For example, if you have a file named DSC_0003.JPG, the computer is showing you the thumbnail from the last file named DSC_0003.JPG it's seen. If there's a "Refresh" item in the menu (possibly in the View menu), try it and see if everything refreshes.

If that's not the problem, could you specify the make and model camera, whether you're connecting the camera to the computer or putting the card into a card reader, the computer operating system and version, and what program you're using to view your pictures.
