Question about Toshiba Satellite A105-S4344 Notebook

Open Question

My Satellite A105-S4344 trackpad cursor freezes after startup and I cannot get it to release. It moves until my virus control (ESET) program comes on, which is right after start up, so I cannot use it to do anything. I can only move the arrows to highlight a box option, so i can re-start the computer. The trackpad had been lighting up spontaneously, and that was freezing the trackpad. I unfroze the trackpad by hitting some of the F buttons around F7, F8, F9, and the trackpad would eventually lose its highlight and the cursor would unfreeze, but this last time it didn't. I cannot do anything with my computer. What can I do?

SOURCE: DVD broken - How to replace it

Hi,

I found this on the toshiba website http://askiris.toshiba.com/ToshibaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=ex&bbid=bb35&url=&dialogID=45113241&stateId=0%200%2045111928

Basically it says 'If the internal CD or DVD drive is removable, it's usually secured in place by a locking switch and a separate eject switch / lever on the bottom or side of the computer.'

I couldn't find a decent manual with pictures, hopefully this helps

SOURCE: how do you install ram in a toshiba a105-s4344 laptop

I take it that you already have the correct RAM you need. Wiith that, power off your notebook, unplug it, turn it over and your will see the larg cover closer to the right of the notebook. Unscrew the screw to release the memory cover and place it to the side. Be carefull with static when handling your memory card, install the card into any open slot in your notebook. (The memory card will go in the slot at a 40 degree angle and then 'snap' down into place. Replace the memory cover (the large piece you took off at the begininig.) power up you notebook and the new memory should be registered and ready for use. Good Luck.

Cursor on my toshiba sattelite is locked

Hi

This is not automatic lock but you have turned off the trackpad

Hold the Fn key and press F9 key this will re-activate the mouse and then you can use it.

It is provided to turn off because then you type if your palm touch the trackpad the cursor will move and you may start typing somewhere else.

I have a Toshiba LapTop Windows 7 My granddaughter pushed keys and now i can't get the cursor to move. I have tried shutting down and it is still frozen in the middle .

Are you using the trackpad to manipulate the cursor, or are you using an external mouse?

If you're using the trackpad, it may be as simple as using the Fn keys and the corresponding F keys at the top of the keyboard to enable the trackpad feature again. If that doesn't work, try plugging in an external mouse via USB port to see if that works.
If you're using an external mouse, then try to see if the cursor moves while using the trackpad.

Hopefully one of these options will give you control back over your cursor again.

The problem with Lcd screen is that if you see line through them there are three possibiltys 1Your cable connection from the laptop to the screen is loose 2 the inverter is failing which mostlikly you will see backlite flashs and then blank screen or pixcels seem to get lost and return 3 bad screen pixcel lost in hole sections or line or lines than a total lost of screen chech all the connections first .connect a monitor to the laptop and see if you have the same problem if so it may be the video card on the board
