Remote control stopped working

I purchased a Philips 37PF7320A 37 in in Dec. 2006 and worked fine until this weekend. The remote no longer works. Both the remote that came with the TV as well as the remote that came with cable which was working fine. Batteries are fresh in both. At first the TV wouldn't turn on/off with the remotes, then the volume control stopped working, then all the rest of the controls. I can still operate the TV from the controls on the side. Warranty expired 5 months ago.

Any idea what's wrong? Thanks in advance for your help.

Could you elaborate a little more on what exactly the SAA7130 TV Card Driver is?? I did download a firmware upgrade for the TV, but that didn't help the problem with the remote no longer working.

    Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem. Got home this evening to find that neither the TV remote nor the cable remote can power on the tv or change volume. The controls on the side of the tv set work fine. First thing I did was replace the batteries in both remotes, but no luck.

Well, just a little over two months after reporting the problem with the remote control not working, now I get the dreaded "flashing red light". I should have known that the remote control not working was a symptom of a much bigger problem about to happen.

I called Philips customer service and was told that the nearest service center was located about 70 miles from my house, and I live in a major metropolitan area! What have other people done when they encountered this problem? Based upon other Google results I've done, it sounds like this is a very expensive problem to fix.

    Thanks for any advice.

Hey. I paid the $20 for the expert advice and (I feel such a fool) I just had to unplug the tv and plug it in again for everything to work!

Small green line on right side of screen

This is an easy fix using the Philips remote control that came with your tv. On the center of the remote is a dial that has left right up down controls. Stand in front of the tv and using those controls you can recenter the screen and get rid fo the green line. I had same problem when we hooked up hd satellite reciver to philips 37 plasma

37PF7320A 37 problem hooking up dvd

Connect the DVD to the back of the set on AV2 red white and yellow rca cable . Then to the other end to the DVD red white and yellow. Turn the DVD on and press play. On the tv remote below the number 7 there is an AV button. Press that button and put the tv to AV2. Your DVD picture should be there.

Remotes no longer work

I had this exact same problem. After a week or so it started responding to the remote control again. Then after a couple of days it stopped responding. This problem came and went for about a month, then one day the entire TV went dead. When I powered it on, the green light appeared for 2 seconds followed by a sequence of 6 flashing red lights that repeated. I brought my set in to a repair shop and they replaced the power supply board. That fixed the problem and now the TV powers up and responds to the remote control again. Total charge was $250. That was very disappointing for a $1,500 TV that was only 18 months old. I'm going to let Philips know how disappointed I am in their product!

Problems with your Philips 37PF7320A 37 in remote control

If the remote has been replaced the IR receiver could be bad. Try changing the channels with by the tv. Most likely that is the problem.Beside that the small signal board could be an issue. But I would the IR receiver would be first.

TV doesn't recognize any remote

The proble is the IR sensor 932220681667 or the small signal board. I would replace the IR sensor first. Also check the firmware and make sure it is BX23U-1.5.0.0_03531 and if it is not go to www.usasupport.com and down load the firware on a USB stick. If the set still has the problem when both are done replace the small signal board.
