Hi,

This is a common problem that is happening in i9 sciphon.
The memory card will not get detected. To solve this follow the steps and check
1)Clean the tip of the gold plated memory card with Kerosene with clean cloth and let it dry.
2)Put the memory card in flat position and check.
3)Re-format the memory card.Format using card reader.Put it in the card reader and format it.Due to security reasons the phone will not detect the memory card you have reformat the memory card and put any document file in it and check.
4)Switch on and off and place the memory card properly and check.
5)Reset the phone some time the firmware will corrupted and will not detect the memory card.Do hard reset. or Master reset. For reset codes refer here.http://www.fixya.com/support/t1573318-sciphone_i68
6)If there is any memory card detection option enable it.

post a comment for further assistance.
Thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)

My ds not recognising the r4 card

Hey there,

Do you have the original R4 card? It's possible that your DS isn't recognising it because the original one (before the R4i and R4 SDHC came out etc) only accepts up to 2GB Micro-SD cards. You should check the size of the Micro-SD card you're using at the moment.

I recommend buying R4i cards / R4i DS cards from either dscardworld.com or nds-gear.com - probably nds-gear if you're in Canada or Europe since their international rates are a bit cheaper

Good luck!

I can not get my micro sd 2gb memory card to read in my sciphone

Do you know that the 2 gig card is a SDHC (SECURE DIGITAL HIGH CAPACITY), this type of high capcity card will only work in devices that specificly say theu accept SDHC, which is different than the older just plain SD cards.

I recently purchased a sciphone i9+++ and it says 16GB but seems

The back cover on mine states '32gb'. that is just smoke and mirrors!
The amount of memory on these depends on the micro sd memory on the inside. My phone came with a 2gb card and I just upgraded to a 8gb and it works fine.

Your issue could be one of two things...

1) you don't have a micro sd card installed or minimal one; or

2) you have lots of memory via your sd card but you are trying to save the items to the phone memory rather than the sd card.

If #2, mine shows as a removeable drive on my computer. you can right click and select properties to determine the size... if it matches the card you have then that should be the one (depending on what other 'things' you may have connected to your computer).

Cheers

My phone doesn't recognise my sd card

An 8GB micro SD card will actually be a micro SDHC card. Older SD devices care incompatible at the basic hardware level with the SDHC specification: they can only use standard SD variants. In theory that means a micro SD up to 4GB but in practice I've found very few pre-SDHC devices which will reliably handle more than 2GB SD cards without a firmware update.

I hope that this answers your question and ask in return only that you take a moment to rate my answer.

If it hasn't, then please add a comment with the exact make and model of the older phone and also of the 8GB micro-SD card and I'll investigate further before posting a reply for you.

Sandisk 8gig micro sdhc card

It is most likely because your card is a SDHC (NEW ) and your reader is just a SD.

External memory - sd card recognition on pc??

if it doesn't even appear on windows explorer either the sd card, usb link or iriver is defective. if all else fails try getting a memory card reader. this allows you to store files on the card through the computer and still be able to insert the card as external storage on the iriver x20. the only trouble with that is that its hard to get the card in and out of the iriver
