Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Unfortunately Samsung SH893M should be in standby mode for time recording as this has only one digital tuner. Once recording is started then you can press play to get the recorder to allow operation while still recording via the timer. While setting the Timer Recording you will need to select the HDD. If still the issue is not resolved then I will suggest buying a new model. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

    • 3*Turn off DLST, +1H will disappear and LCD shows the real time. MANUAL OVERRIDE AND ALWAYS ON/OFF When in clock mode the +/MANUAL sign cycles through
    • 4 settings that serve as manual override. **ON - Indicates that the timer is in the ON mode, and will always be on regardless of the programmed setting. **AUTO ON - At this selection, the timer will come on regardless of the programmed setting, but it will follow the next programmed command. **OFF - Indicates that the timer is always off (i.e. the wall socket is turned off) **AUTO OFF - Indicates that the timer is in the OFF mode until the next programmed step that turns it ON.
    • NOTE: For normal timer function, the selection must be either "AUTO ON" or "AUTO OFF". RESET At any mode, press RESET for 5 seconds. All settings will be cleared, return to clock mode, 12:00 MO, AM, AUTO OFF will be shown on LCD

There is also a way of setting it by simply turning the light on and off at the desired time. Can yu help?

Manual: http://www.intermatic.com/~/media/files/intermatic/products/instructions/timers/ej351c%20-%20english.ashx

The manual says:
"To automatically program, letting the switch
timer "record" your ON/OFF activities over a 24-hour period,
storing them as programmed settings:

Move the control lever to the OFF-CLEAR position for about
20 seconds. The red indicator light will go off and any previous
time settings will be cleared from memory.
Move the control lever to the ON position. The Red indicator
light will start flashing.
Press the dial as an ON/OFF switch to turn lights ON and OFF
at the ON and OFF times you desire for the first 24 hours.
At the end of the 24-hour period, the switch timer will be programmed
and the Red indicator light will stay ON, indicating
that the switch timer is in AUTOMATIC mode."

Have SANYO VCR/DVD Model E175216 and can't locate timer button for late night programming

Hi, if ithere is no button on the front of the unit or on the remote, then simply setting the unit to standby with either power button should make the unit enter the timer record mode. (This will be indicated with TIMER or a small red clock symbol in the display providing all the conditions have ben met. i..e clock & timer correctly set, tape in machine, etc)

Hello I lost my instructions for theej351c, can you help?

1. Move control lever to OFF-CLEAR for at least 5 seconds; red indicator light will go
off, and all previous time settings will be cleared from memory. (If timer fails to set, leave in off
position for 15 minutes.)
2. Move lever to ON. RED INDICATOR will start FLASHING.
3. Check a clock; then rotate time dial clockwise at least one click, stopping at the half
hour nearest to present time. NOTE: When rotating time dial, do NOT accidentally PRESS at
the same time. (While rotating dial, keep pressure, pulling out on the dial to avoid accidentally
setting an incorrect time.)
4. Press pushbutton once to enter present time. RED INDICATOR will go OFF, present
time has now been recorded.
5. Rotate time dial clockwise to desired ON time; RED light will PULSE momentarily
with each click.
6. Press pushbutton to enter ON time; controlled light(s) will turn on.
7. Rotate dial to desired OFF time.
8. Press pushbutton to enter OFF time; controlled light(s) will now be off.
9. Repeat Steps 5-8 for each addition ON/OFF period.
10. Continue to rotate time dial for at least 24 hours from the first ON time to complete
this program, at which time the RED INDICATOR light will come ON and stay ON,
indicating timer is in AUTOMATIC mode. NOTE: Dial does not rotate automatically
after setting to indicate time of day.

Recording problem

My solution is a simple one. I set the Record Time via "TIMER REC." on your remote for 10 minutes BEFORE and AFTER my desired program time.

Now it's a simple matter to EDIT to the program content I want.

Hope this helps you!

Channel stuck and can't record shows the same night

Your two problems are related - the DVD player lost contact with the local PBS channel, which altered its internal clock.

Add a red, white and yellow cable from one of the outs on the back of the cable box to the slot marked AV1 IN on the back of the Philips. Then redo the channel programming - press the System Menu button and change Tuning Band to CATV - it will then ask you if you want to do an Auto Channel Set - say Yes.

Once it is done with the channel programming, turn the DVD player to whatever channel PBS is on in your area's cable service. Then go back to System Menu - select Clock Set and go to Auto. Alternatively, you can select Manual under Clock Set and change the date by hand).

Good luck!
