My headset is actually a LG Headset HBM-560. I put it on the charger, the blue light came on indicating to me that it was charging, however everytime that I attempt to power it up nothing happens. This is a brand new headset.

Why does my headset turn on/off

Seems like what you say a power problem + the wireless band is a busy surroundig. Try some new batteries . It goes on so that's not the problem, it seems to me your signal is too weak to provide the working power and every day hours loading makes it die just faster.

LG HBS 730 WILL NOT POWER UP OR HOLD A CHARGE

My headset is also the same. It stopped powering up and never powers up. When charged it shows the red light and then it turns yellow but doesnt turn on and is useless.

I called up their customer care and they are useless and rude. waste calling them and waiting in their line for picking up the call. the call connects up and they put you on hold without even greeting you. stupid idiots.

Red blinking light

Hi, Ephraim. The flashing red light indicates that the device is showing "low battery". It could be that the LG phone charger fits the charging port on your bluetooth headset but it is not compatible with your device. In order for you to know that it is charging, the device should show a steady red light(means charging).
Please take a look at the table reference below.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
•With the Charger Plugged In
______________________________________________________________________
•Headset Indicator Headset Status
Red-----------------------------------------------Charging (battery level less than 50% charge)
Yellow-------------------------------------------Charging (battery level more than 50% charge)
Green--------------------------------------------Charging complete

With No Charger Plugged In

Headset Indicator Headset Status
______________________________________________________________________
Off ---------------------------------------------Power off
Three blue flashes------------------------Powering on/off
Steady blue --------------------------------Pairing/connect mode
Rapid blue/purple flashes -------------Connection successful
Quick blue flash --------------------------Incoming/outgoing call
Slow blue pulse --------------------------Connected (on a call)
Slow blue flash ---------------------------Standby (not on a call)
Slow red flash ----------------------------Idle (not connected to phone)
Slow purple pulse -----------------------Connected call muted
Steady red ---------------------------------Attempting to connect
Quick red flash ----------------------------Low battery

Note: After 20 minutes on a call or of inactivity, the light stops flashing to conserve power, but the headset remains on

Hope that'll help you in some way.

The power button seems to be broken

I also own this product. Had problems with charging light, charging capacity, and powering on to pair with my Galaxy3. After having all these issues I decided get to the root of the dysfunctions! What I disovered:
  • the battery is on opposite side to indicator light and power/volume button-IT IS UNCOMMON TYPE AND WOULD NOT TAKE A CHARGE- TESTED AFTER CHARGING FOR OVER TWO HOURS
  • ALL of the headset wiring is low low grade, very thin and some is left exposed without insulating coating while twisted up and smashed into small compartment causing a short or impairment of product powering on or charging properly!
  • Not to mention the contact switch for power button is prone to break due to the poor quality of parts and construction!
  • Im considering rewiring mine with better grade copper and a compatible rechargeable power supply. Wish me luck !
  • I am very disappointed with the internal construction and materials BECAUSE THEY LOOK AND FEEL GREAT TO WEAR JUST NOT SURE HOW THEY COULD SOUND.....YET!

I have a H270 Bluetooth headset. I charged it

I had the same problem. I plugged a USB charger into the headset and turned the power switch off. It worked as normal after that. I think it does not like to be "on" when the USB is disconnected. Anyway it seems the plugging/unplugging kick-started it.

Cannot hear anything out of the earpiece of my GN netcom 9120 wireless headset

I was also experiencing the same problem (also after a power failure / storm) -- apparently good battery charge, connections ok, etc. I then tried removing the battery from the headset itself, waited 30 seconds, and then reinstalled the battery. This seems to have resolved the problem.

It is fairly easy to open the clamshell, but you will need a very fine Phillips screwdriver to remove the battery hold-in (it's really not a hold-down, it just keeps the battery in place. Reassemble the same way -- be sure to keep positive to positive and negative to negative.

I'm facing the same problem with my plantronics 510. Would love to hear if it is fixable. I've already bought myself a new one (tip - look at craigslist for a cheaper deal than even ebay and amazon)
