Question about Audio Players & Recorders

New Onkyo cd player random

New Onkyo 6-cd player random play doesn't work correctly. It will work for the first cut and then seems to finds CD numbers greater than 6 and then selections greater than the number on the cd. Thanks.

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. The unit was new, I returned it under warranty after talking with the manufacturer, which was nice except for the cost of sending it back. Next one will be purchased locally.

You imply that this is a new unit. If so, it should still be under warranty. This sounds like there is a logic problem. Return this for warranty exchange or repair.

Denon DN-C635 CD Player problem.

In working with consumer electronics a lot of years, the pickup, mechanism or CD section is not always at fault but people that
are trying to work on their own equipment make assumptions that may not be correct. If you put in a new CD player then the other issues as with all wave soldered equipment can be bad solder joints and even bad solder at joints where the connectors are as these get a lot of activity in a repair. Look at the PCB well. I have fixed a lot of equipment by resoldering bad or broken joints. Check around power transistors and those larger drive transistors for these broken joints.

Hello

Check all connections, such as from player to amplifier or receiver and receiver to speaker. Check and clean contacts on RCA jacks and cables and try a different input on the amplifier or receiver.

Clean the lens. Use only a special CD lens cleaner and follow the instructions carefully.

Check the traverse assembly (the metal rod that the laser travels along and the gear that drives it) if CDs aren't recognized or won't play, frequent skipping occurs at random, CDs randomly get stuck in one spot, the player can't find tracks correctly, or cleaning the lens doesn't work. Dust and lint may be interrupting its function.

Have the laser-head assembly checked by a repair person if the traverse assembly seems intact and free of debris.Look for broken plastic parts, such as gears and clips, look for loose or broken internal connections.possibly have gears and belts replaced.

I forgot how to use random play on onkyoon dx-c540 CD player

Manuals are a great solution for limited memory capacity.

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

Hint: There's a relevant key on the remote.

Onkyo C-707chx cd tray jammed won't open won't play

I have the same exact problem with my Onkyo C-707CHX and I found a solution that doesn't involve jamming any screws or other metal objects into your cd tray (which could most likely just cause more damage). This way seems a little safer: Power on your device and hit the open button. As soon as you hit the open button quickly push slightly with both hands on both sides of the cd tray that should be opening. You should hear the trays moving around in there and then you have to try to feel for a slight push from the tray. As soon as you feel that slight push, take your hands off of the tray and let it come out. This has been working for me for a while now (and hopefully will continue to work until I take it to get fixed somewhere). The only issue I have run into is that my "Disc 1" open button doesn't work with this method. So I just use this method with disc 2 or 3 and then once it's open I can hit the disc 1 button to get to that tray. So if it doesn't work with one tray, try the other two as well. Hope this helps.

Using remote to play video DVD

You need to bypass your A/V tuner for your video connections (if possible). Plug your video directly into the TV and audio into the tuner. This will also give you a cleaner signal/picture as it does not have to processed by your tuner BEFORE it goes to your tv. Think of it as cutting out the middle man. Your tuner is best left for powering your speaker and not controlling your video despite all of the available connections in the back of it.

I would also get rid of your VHS and cassette players as they are dead technology. Clean up your system and remove the clutter. This will lessen your chance of getting interference. Good luck!!

DX-C390 turn on

Use a surge protection power strip (such as the Power Protect AV 600 by Monster Power).

This will elliminate erratic behaviour of the unit, since even minute fluctuations in the power source from unbridled house current will affect the sensitive internal components of the Onkyo DX-C390 6-Disc CD Changer.
