My SONY KDF-50E3000 turns on but it looks like its weak, color it not bright and I already have it to 100 on the brightest level. Any idea on what it could be ?

Some televisions have a Power Saving Mode; the picture will become brighter if the Powers Saving Mode is turned off.
Some televisions have a Light Sensor; the picture will become brighter or lower depending on room lighting conditions. Turning off the Automatic Brightness Control may increase picture brightness.

Philips 60PW9383 picture faded. Try to adjust, sharpness, contrast & brightness are all almost all of the way up, but the picture just looks weak & washed out.

Thats the classis sign that the CRT coolant needs replacement to restore the picture quality. You can get the Phillips CRT coolant kit from www.tvrepairworld.com which contains the coolant for the three CRTs plus the CD with instructions.

Pioneer Elite Pro 620 HD TV on several occasions the screen has gone black but sound continues and the power green libht remains on. After shutting down for 10-15 minutes picture comes back.

Pioneer Elite Pro rear projection 620HD - Picture is still there but brightness and "white" have faded over years allowing for mediocre viewing when room is dark only. During the daylight picture is visible if viewed straight on and within 15 feet from set. Any suggestions?

12 yr. old 25" G.E. picture fading

I gotta love it when people make up answers. There is no such thing as a "contrass module". I'm assuming the poster meant "contrast". The trouble is your 12-year-old picture tube. It's gotten weak and isn't getting as bright or sharp as it used to. Picture tube manufacturers estimate the useful life of a tube at about 7 years today. There are adjustments inside that might help some, but you need a new picture tube. It's going to cost a lot more than $60 to $75 for that. You're better off replacing the TV.

Picture fades in and out

Some newer TV's are equipped with a ROOM SENSOR which will change the Contrast and Brightness according to the amount of light going into the Sensor. While watching DVD's or Movies the output of light from the TV screen changes sometimes affecting the Sensor. While Computers are pretty consistent with light output.  Go into your TV Menu and look for ROOM SENSOR or something similar and turn it off. If not then check in the TV Menu Video controls and see if there are any Contrast or Brightness functions set to AUTO. If so grab a DVD with THX and they have a TV Calibration that is very easy to set-up your TV too.

There is only one brightness bulb for your tv. You have the main bulbs which run the color for the Tv and then you have another bulb which runs the brighness. Typically it is a flourecent bulb inside which does need replacement now and then. Check tje specks on the tv's web site and you should be able to get the model number of the bulb from them and you should be able to purchase it from a repair shop or from online
