yea but the trick is the latch acces is behind console not the front panel, you need to unistall the d/w slightly to remove strike plate holding broken latch closed, door needs to be opened to gain access to console screws

I recently had the same problem. One of the cords that attaches the door to a spring had snapped. I purchased cord replacments at the following URL and completed the repair myself. http://www.repairclinic.com/SmartSearch/SSPartDetail.aspx?PartID=1059756&PPStack=1
Good Luck, Tim K.

I have had the same problem since our KitchenAid was new. The only solution so far is to try bending the metal door latch down slightly. You will know when you have bent it too far as the door will no longer close. Just bend it back up slightly. I used to work in the appliance industry and got the service man to admit that the door latch has been an issue and there is no real fix. I have looked at the new KA dishwashers and they have since redesigned the door latch. I am going to see if the new latch can be retrofitted into my Kuds01FLSS6 dishwasher. I will post on here if indeed it works.

OK, pretty easy fix. Look at diagram 10 here: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5164885
The link (#24) probably broke and the spring (#18) probably shot off and is lying somewhere behind the dishwasher. Just pull out the dishwasher (careful not to disconnect or crimp any of the hoses) and check to see if both springs (one on each side) can be located. Just replace the old links and re-hook the springs and all should be well.
You can order the link replacement (part #8194001) from kitchenaid at 1-800-422-1230.
