Sorry to hear that your cam is not working reinstall your software that cam with your cam. Some how it was lost in the mix. Plug cam into another computer to see if it works any computer will work to test it out. It is also helpful if in you question you include brand and what your operating system you have loaded in the computer your cam is plugged into. So it is obvious that software is not connecting when you plug your cam in. Try reinstalling as I mentioned earlier in this post.
Power down your computer and unplug it then push the power button hold it for about 3-5 seconds till you see a flash then plug the power cord back in to the computer. Make sure that the cam is not plugged in. Then reinstall software that came with your cam. Follow directions to the letter. When you plug the cam back in the software should pick it back up again. If not it may be the cam itself went bad does not matter if it is new looking or new.
I personally do not use software I use what my operating system software has for my equipment that way I do not bog my machine down and I set defaults for each piece of software I use for certain things otherwise you may run into conflicts. It is again common for all of us to forget to clean out machines or defrag drives or have 3 or 4 players going for video or sound stuff. Limit your needs to one piece of software at a time.
Ensure the web cam is secured to your personal computer (PC). Most web cams use a "plug and play" principle. You plug the web cam in; it operates.
Install the required software for the web cam to operate. This may involve placing a CD in one of the drives, or alternatively, downloading the software from a host site.
Always reboot the computer after installing new software.
Click on the desktop icon or the program icon to start the program. If the program is correctly functioning, the web cam will start producing an image of its view on the desktop. Adjust the web cam for a clear picture and the view you want.
Most web programs will have a icon for "take picture." Left click on that icon or button. The web cam, like a normal camera, will then "freeze" that image and place it in a photo library.
Open the photo library and examine the image just taken. Congratulations, you just took a photograph with your web cam.
If you tried the video test in the software you were supplied with the camera, try doing the same thing in windows movie maker2, this way if the same thing happens you know there is a problem with the cam driver streaming the audio and video not the software for recording.
If it is still out of sync; as i have had on many occasions with my logitech, sometimes restarting the camera helps, because normally the camera programme starts up as soon as you boot up the pc ready for your cam to be connected.
To do this there is normally an icon on right side of taskbar, right click on it and select close, and disconnect cam.
Reconnect cam and the software should restart.
You can also try using a different usb port as that sometiimes cures the delay.
