    Maytag "control panel/sensor" shows about 4 different parts when you look up replacement parts on appliance repair web sites or repairclinic, etc. Parts vary in cost from $200 to $300 each. I have repaired a lot of appliances if I can get the correct part. Are there actually 4 boards of this cost in the washer or???

    next day, washer did not immediately come up with the goofy code so i ran thru a cycle with nothing in the machine--ran ok. Then ran a cycle with only a few clothes in it--ok, put in half a load and it ran till the last 2 mins of the cycle. Waited half day and then ran an empty cycle--OK. Something is "overloading" if the spin cycle is too "loaded?????

Is the power cord plugged into a grounded 3 prong outlet?Plug the power cord into a grounded three prong outlet.
Are you using an extension cord?
Do not use an extension cord.
Has a household fuse blown, or has a circuit breaker tripped?
Check to see if a household circuit breaker or Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt (GFCI) outlet has tripped. If so, reset the circuit breaker or Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt. If the washer is on a fuse box, check to see if a fuse has blown and replace it, if necessary. If the problem continues, call an electrician.
Are both the hot and cold water faucets turned on?
Turn on the water. Check the household faucets to see if the hot and cold water faucets are turned on. Make sure to completely open both faucets for proper fill.
NOTE: Both the hot and cold water must be connected to the washer and turned on; the washer will not operate properly with only one incoming source of water.
Is the water inlet hose kinked?

Straighten the water inlet hoses.
Are the water inlet valve screens on the washer clogged?

    Turn off the water and remove the inlet hoses from the washer.
    Remove any accumulated film or particles. Reinstall the hoses, turn on
    water, and check for leaks.Is the washer in a normal pause in the cycle?
    The
    washer pauses for about two minutes during certain cycles. Allow the
    cycle to continue. Some cycles feature periods of tumbling and soaking.
    Is the washer door firmly shut?
    The
    door must be completely closed for the washer to operate. The door may
    look closed, but may not be latched. Open the door and firmly close it.

    Has a cycle been selected, but Start has not been selected and held for one second?Press and hold START for one second.
    Is the Control Locked status light on?
    Press and hold the CYCLE SIGNAL button for three seconds. This will turn off the Control Locked feature.

    Was the door left closed after the last cycle?
    The
    washer door must be opened and closed again to start a new cycle. If
    the door is not opened between cycles, the washer may not start.

I got this from another post on your model, it might help:

3E == overcurrent detected at the motor.

Open the control panel, there should be a tech sheet in there that explains how to put the machine into service mode (press chime and extra rinse keys for three seconds) and what to do while in service mode to track this down. Once on service mode, you can cycle through and retrieve all diagnostic codes... and lots of other stuff that'll help you track this down.

You can also go ahead and check out the windings on the motor. Unplug harness connector and test from wire insertion side.

Pin #1 and Pin #2 of CN9 == 11.6 ohms
Pin #1 and Pin #3 of CN9 == 11.6 ohms
Pin #2 and Pin #3 of CN9 == 11.6 ohms

Hello MrBig57,

Try unplugging the washing machine from the mains for about 15 minutes, turn off the circuit breaker to that socket. After 15 minutes, turn on the breaker, plug the machine back and see if it responds normally.
If that does not work, it could indicate a problem with the control panel or some other component that will require dismantling.

I recommend you get a professional to to do the job.

If you wish you can contact Maytag HERE.
Or call them using these numbers:

Hope that helps!

Thank you for using FIXYA!

EVERYTHING WORKS FINE UNTILL IT GET TOWARDS THE END OF SPIN CYCLE THEN IT STARTS VIBRATING AND WALKING ACROSS THE FLOOR PLEASE HELP ? WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD THIS PROBLEM EVEN AFTER LOWES INSTALLED THE WASHER...

First, make sure the 4 shipping bolts have been removed, and that the machine is level front to back and left to right BOTH! Some machines prefer to be high in the front. VERY IMPORTANT Must have a minimum of clothes & towels, sheets or blankets to wash. DON"T wash 2-5 item loads (small loads)
run machine at least 2/3 full of dry clothes. These machines are built to wash more per load, also because of the many technical parts of the machine, sensors and relays, the machine decides how much water to use not the user! Some "Old Schoolers" have a real issue with the lack of water and unclean clothing... most complaints are user error. Enjoy the new front loading technologies! Cheers! Happy Washing.

Water leak from detergent drawer

Remove the control panel. Inside you will find a service tech sheet that will identify the error code.

There may be an obstruction in the water valve inlet flume forcing the water to travel in the wrong direction.
