Question about Canon MV530i Mini DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

Canon Mini DV MV530i: When the cover is fully opened (while holding the button) the cassette is not ejected from the cassette compartment whilst the "EJECT" word blinks in red on the screen. The user manual does not have an appropriate solution for it says "Unload the cassette and turn the camcorder off. Turn it on again and reload the cassette." How can I unload the cassette if the cassette compartment does not open?

Tape mechanism problems are quite complicated but they can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it’s not a user serviceable problem and will need to be diagnosed by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I’m a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I’m semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

If this response has been of any help to you, please be sure and give a positive vote for me on FixYa.com .

Canon ZR100 cassette compartment won't open

Usually a chime happens when you open the plastic cover just before it opens. If you plug it into the electrical outlet does it eject that way?

The mechanical part of the camera is gone. You better replace the camera with a new one.

Can't open the dv tape

Solutions * The most frequent cause of this type situation is not having a power source attached, or a depleted battery pack. * Once the power source is available, some models require manually unlatching and opening a cover. * When the cover is fully open, the cassette will eject automatically after a few seconds. * If the tape still will not eject, seek assistance from a Service Facility because you need a special tool to remove the tape without causing further damage.

Fully-open the cassette compartment cover until it stops while sliding and holding the OPEN/EJECT switch. The videocassette will eject automatically after a few seconds. To unload the videocassette from the cassette compartment, the camcorder needs to be connected to a power source (either an electrical outlet or a charged battery). Please refer to the following instructions. Connect the camcorder to the power source or insert the fully charged battery pack, and then slide the EJECT switch to open the cassette compartment cover. The cassette compartment cover will open, and then the compartment will open automatically.
