I have a F5 error- I followed your advise and cleared a few hair clips from the ball joint but the fault still occurs.
How do I get to the pump and its filter?

The pump is located bottom left as you look at the machine from the back, if you slide the pump to the left it will come loose, unscrew the three screws to look inside the pump and their you will probably find some more debris, remove the debris and the machine should work okay on any wash program. Best of luck Tim17

Hotpoint ultima error code f5

Fault code f05 is a drainage problem or pressure switch stuck on full.
If your machine is full of water, unplug it from the wall socket. Drag the machine out and lower the drain hose into a wash basin. Raise the hose to stop the flow of water. Repeat the draining process until you get no more water coming out.
Now take the rear panel off, check the pump hasn't burned out, use a multimeter to test if it's open circuit and check the wires to it aren't broken.
If all ok there, take the hose off the bottom of the tub and clear out any debris in there.
If this doesn't work, repeat draining it and this time take the pump out and make sure there's nothing there stopping the pump running.

If there is no water in the machine, take the lid off, locate the pressure switch and take the small bore tube off it, blow down the tube to ensure there is no blockage. Give the pressure switch a tap and try again.

My Hotpoint Ultima WMD 960 displays "F04" on the display panel before the programme ends. Have cleaned the filter and it worked OK in spin mode and finished normally but now have put in a washing load, it...

Error code F04 means pressure switch jammed on empty.
Do the following.
Remove lower rear panel of washer.
Remove large black hose on bottom of drum.
Remove and clean filter inside the hose.
Remove the hose on to the pump, and check for blockage or obstruction here as well.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

Hotpoint ultima wt746 error f-12

Just had F-12 on my Hotpoint Aquarius washing machine. Problem was due to water not draining. Power off. My machine has access plate at bottom on the back. The water drain is held onto the drum via a jubilee clip and when i took it off the drain was clogged with hair, sweet wrappers, money, hair bobbles Once cleared, put back as was - machine now running ok..

Error code f08 on Wt940 ultima.

not sure if this will help but try:
First empty the machine by lowering the hose at the rear to ground level into a container. Take off the white plastic cover on rear at bottom. You will see black rubber hose connected to barrel of machine in right hand corner. Undo the silver screw on the band securing the hose. (Biggest band). You can now pull the hose down to reveal a "table tennis like" ball. Lift it out carefully and you will probably find an obstruction like a coin or similar. I found a hairgrip but it was enough to stop the ball functioning. DO NOT TAKE OFF THE WHITE HOSE CLIPS
Comment by pulmicort, posted on Feb 02, 2008 Further to my comments re clearing scrap from table tennis ball after code F4. Machine started ok but then F5 came up. Had to take the pump off and apart to reveal broken hairclip actually seized in pump. If you are handy at all this is simplicity itself.
Slide pump to left and lift and it comes clear. Take off 2 black hoses only where connected to main machine. Pull off electrical connection. Pump and hoses lift out easily. 3 screws open the pump. Clean any obstruction and reassemble. A 30 minute operation.

HOTPOINT ULTIMA SUPER SILENT ( WF 860 ) 1600 SPIN SPEED.

I read that someone has a problem with F-03 on the display. I have seen this for the first time on my hotpoint wf860 1600 spin. I read the manual the only thing I can think of maybe an unbalanced load in the machine. Albeit the manual is not clear about this. P21 automatic features unbalanced load warning.
