Question about KitchenAid KWVU265YBA Kitchen Hood

Open Question

I cannot turn off the fan. All speeds work just fine except "off" by using the front panel buttons. All LED's light up properly. Even when I close the hood, the fan does not turn off. The light works normally - its front panel switch works fine and closing the hood turns the light off. I manually pressed down on the front-most micro-switch used for detecting hood closure by using an extremely long screwdriver, but nothing changes - the light stays on and the fan stays on. When I press the rearmost micro-switch, the light successfully turns off, but the fan still stays on. Thanks for your help! Email joopblog@att.net if you can.

SOURCE: kitchen aid stove problem

Peter,

First...be sure you cut power to the stove before you do anything. This is 220 volts and it can kill you. 220 Volts is based on two different lines of power coming to the stove, each of which is 110 volts...but opposite each other in phase. This may mean that some power to the stove is on and some is not. Let's go on.

I suspect a few things: First, the coil control for the burner is probably finished. What I also suspect is that it opened one of the two breakers (they are usually tied together in the panel and are either 40/50/60 amp units) causing some lights but no action.

What to do: Reset the breakers as a pair by turning them off and on. If one snaps off, you have a problem at the stove. If not,...which I doubt...you're in business.

Let's look at replacing the control. Shut the breakers. Now, take the burned control and remove it. Note the wiring positions if they are not on a plug. If they are terminals, tape the ends. Now, reset those breakers. If the other burners work, replace the control. Take the old one to the parts store. If it doesn't work, look around the burned area for broken wires. Repair and tape them up. Try again. Oh, and don't let anyone touch the stove while you're working with those breakers.

check for power going into the switch. (you need a meter) If the switch is set to "on" there should be power going in and out. Find a good ground or use the white wire to test. If there is, just follow the path of electricity. If you do not have a meter this is next to impossible to do.

Hampton Bay Chateau Deville with remote stuck in high. Remote works fine for light with dimmer, but will not turn off fan or change speed. Stuck on high.

When you had the batteries out of the remote, did you press all the buttons to be sure one is not stuck? Also, this could be a button failure.

as i always say:
intercept all of cables of your PC case and even power cable of your monitor.
evolve battery of bios then wait for 25 minutes then connect all of cables and try turning on your PC:
1- with battery of bios
2- without battery of bios
it should work.
(this works cause the motherboard reset it's bios and start correctly again).

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525. This morning my TV would not turn on so I pressed the rest button. After the Timer light stopped blinking I pressed power. I could hear the fans start than a somewhat loud...

the status light blinking red means a fan (the unit hs 4 of them) has failed. you need to determine which one. use the self diagnostic function:
Error Code Operational Check
Note:
The TV must be in “Shut Down” and not manually switched Off, to perform the Error Code Operational
Check. When the TV is switched Off, the code automatically resets to “12” No Error.
Press the front panel “DEVICE” and “MENU” buttons at the same time, and hold for 5 seconds to
activate the Error Code Operational Check. The LED will then flash denoting a two digit Code.
Note: The front panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.
• The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.
• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second.
• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code.
Example: If the Error Code is “32”, the LED will flash three times, pause, and then flash two times.
• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.

and read the code.
35= Chassis Fan failure
36 =Exhaust (Back Cover) or Lamp Ballast Fan failure
37= Engine (DMD or Lamp) Fan failure
