DVD drive for copying parts of old DVD's.

Well, I just signed up for the premium assistance, so maybe this is already in process to be answered. But the problem is that I don't know how to edit, or copy parts of a DVD (doesn't seem to involve copy protect) to compile into a new DVD. My DVD player burner was added on and the software is Cyberlink, Power Producer/Power Director. Does one copy the whole DVD into Cyberlink ? Even then there does not seem to be any explanation on how to select, or snip out parts to save to a "project" ?

Troubleshooting error codes 0x80130701

this is the answer from a Microsoft engineer:
I would also suggest using a different DVD drive, or maybe copying the installation files to a USB stick (4gb or bigger) and performing a USB install. The error 0x80070017 translates to "CRC Error" which means that the files that are being copied from the disk are not making it to the hard drive with the same structure, meaning that the "original" files on the disk are being modified/changed/corrupted while being copied to the "destination" location on your hard drive during the install.
This usually means either a bad DVD, or a read error on the DVD drive.
The easiest thing is to make a USB drive to install Window s7 (and it's WAY faster than DVD too!)
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd535816.aspx
I hope this helps. I suggest (if you have a back-up copy) to burn a new copy of your install DVD. The present one cannot be fully read by your drive. With the new copy it will work fine as long as your DVD Rom is in good order. The USB install depends on you having a good copy of the software to load on the memory stick anyway. I think that's it all covers eh ? Good Luck, Ray.
I too hope it helps

How to sign into a google drive

Install google drive. Start program. Wait for prompt. When prompted put sign in details (user name and password) and click login. If it's already installed, but you're not signed in, go to the "Show hidden icons" drop down menu next to the clock, right click on the good drive icon, click the sign in option.

Whare can i get a new optical drive for my imac g3

eBay is a great place to shop for new/used hardware for your Mac. You can even find "parts machines" to keep around for emergencies.

I know this is an old question, and I'm hoping you've already gotten an answer. Maybe this can help someone else if you have your drive already.

Is there a way i can make it so my symphonic model wf803 can play dvds from other regions?

As you can see in the highlighted area below, I have already purchased the premium plan. This has not helped me solve my problem. I don't know what to do next. I paid almost $20 for a session that was cut short and I have not been able to reconnect. When ever I try your program wants to charge me again even though I sign in. So now what?? On top of that by the time I get an answer to my emails to you my time will have run out. Hmmmmmm, doesn't seem right!! Thank You for Purchasing Premium Live Chat Assistance! NOT SRE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS NEED TO BURN DVD FROM ANOTHER DVD AND

Before you decide to burn a DVD, it is important to know what kind of DVD you would like to burn. The type of DVD will usually determine the process you use to go about burning. The three most common types of DVDs to burn are Data DVD's, Multimedia Files to a DVD and making a copy and burning a commercial DVD. The burning process will be determined by the type of data you want to burn. You could do three possible actions:
  1. Burn Data to a DVD
  2. Burn Multimedia Files to a DVD
  3. Copy and Burn a Commercial DVD
Burning Data to a DVD Ordinary data such as documents, spreadsheets, database files and backup files require only general DVD burning programs. The data that you burn can be viewed on any type of computer with a DVD drive. Popular DVD burning software programs include Nero 9 and Super DVD Creator 9.8.8. You will need to purchase or download any of the DVD burning software titles that are available on the market. For some computers that are purchased new, DVD burning software already comes installed and configured for your machine and DVD burner. You just need to open up your DVD burner software, choose to burn a data DVD and follow the instructions. You can usually burn a full length DVD (about 4.7 GB of data) in less than 20 minutes and even quicker with high speed DVD burners. Burning Multimedia Files to a DVD Multimedia files are usually larger files that include video either recorded from a TV set, camcorder or digital camera or downloaded from the internet. You may also want to convert an old VHS tape to a more user friendly DVD. With today's DVD authoring tools, you can easily burn multimedia files and give them professional features such as adding a title or menu page or cataloguing many TV shows that you have already saved on your computer's hard drive. Some DVD burning software packages even allow you to add subtitles that you can create yourself. You can add DRM (digital rights management) with the help of your burning software, if you are creating commercial videos that you would want to make difficult to copy. Copying and Burning a Commercial DVD Many people use their DVD burner to burn copies of commercial DVDs. In most parts of the world, it is illegal to copy a commercial DVD and sell or distribute it. However, you may want to make a copy for archiving purposes. There are many tools that can copy a commercial DVD. However, apart from the normal DVD burner and DVD burning software, you will also need special software that can decode or crack the digital rights management. It is also important to note that besides cracking the code and copying the data of the commercial DVD, you may need to shrink the file. Most commercial DVDs are dual layer and have between 7 and 8.4 GB of data. These files must be compressed to fit on a normal 4.7 GB DVD. Once you have cracked the commercial DVD and compressed it, you can use ordinary DVD burning software to burn your DVD.

Help Please

Sorry mate i dont understand all you have written, but this is what i use as nero wont copy most films and just wastes the discs, to copy them you need nero installed, then download a free program called dvd shrink which can be found on google. run dvd shrink put film in drive, click open disc select film, then click backup will rip it to drive then spits out disc and you put in blank and it should work fine. Hopefully this is problem you are having. All the best John
