Question about MP3 & Digital Media Players

1 Answer

My philips MP3 player will not turn on even though it is fully charged not on lock, and in "should be" perfect condition since I just got it a few days ago. I've tried reseting it and that hasn't worked either. Please help.

My mp3 will not start, even after a charge

Um honestly .... well, if it will stay on though it's blank, it should be reformattable. If it simply will not turn on even though it's fully charged ... unfortunately it's probably destined for the trash bin.

For the initial charging, YES, you need to follow what's on the manual. If it requires you to charge the player for 4 hours as the initial charging, you need to leave it connected to the wall outlet for 4 hours, so that the battery life will become longer.

Though the key is locked, it's still charging. As long as it's connected to the outlet.

Thank you.

I have a 8gb GoGear it turns off immediatly when i turn it on

Make sure the lock switch was not accidentally engaged, and try powering on one more time. If that fails, plug the mp3 player into the computer, open the Philips Device Manager and run a Repair - it will give on-screen directions once you have clicked the Repair button. Warning: Running the Repair will result in all of your songs being erased from the mp3 player.

My Philips Go Gear SA3025/37 MP3 player won't charge/turn on

i had the same problem. my reset button was jammed. the problem: the reset button is so deep in the tiny hole its hard to tell if you even really hit it when you put a pen in there and somethign like a sharpened pencil just doesn't go deep enough. i monkeyed around wiht a peice of straw in the reset hole for about 10 seconds then tried to turn it on and it worked. good luck

Will not turn on

Make sure that the hold/lock switch isn't engaged, and make sure it has been plugged into the computer for 3-4 hours to fully charge.
If it still won't work, run a Repair in the Philips Device Manager.

Locking the player will not allow the player to charge properly, no matter how long you have it plugged in.

Philips mp3 player sa6045

This player shows the "Do not disconnect" message when it is doing something critical such as transferring tracks or updating firmware, which could corrupt the player if disconnected part way through.

The player shows the "OK to disconnect" when it is idle. As the message says, it's ok to disconnect, as the player will not corrupt if disconnected when it is idle.

These messages mean that the player does not need the "Safe to remove" procedure.

It is ok to disconnect part way through charging. Also the player will condition the battery once it is fully charged, so it's ok to leave it charging.

Occassionally batteries can "memorise" when constantly disconnect and reconnected without fully charging and discharging. To help prevent this, fully discharge the player (leave on until dead) and fully charge and condition (leave charging for about 12 hours) every couple of weeks or so.
