Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Why my Nikon Coolpix L26 isnt uploading to computer via usb to PC

When you connect the USB cable from the camera to the PC, the camera should shut down. If it doesn't perhaps your cable is defect. Or one of the connectors, from the camera or from the PC.
When the cable works on another PC (or Laptop) you can assume the cable is good. But then the USB connector in the PC could be not connected, or the USB controller in the PC is not working correct.
Sure you did install the Nikon software on the PC to?

Unable to down load to my computer

Connect it with the USB cable and if that dosen't work install the software that came with it. If your memory card for the device is removable use an adapter to connect the card to the PC.

While down loading Video on PC the video

Using FireWirecable & card will be the absolute solution.

-Stable,trouble free data transfer during video capture.
-Video transferred at its maximum resolution 720*576 pixels or something like that compared to 340*240 via USB transfer.
-100% supported by any video editing program, even the simplest Window Movie Maker. In other words, forget Sony's software - use something else that wouldn't run you.

Of course, the cable&card might be not very globally available like USB device. But still easy to find and relatively cheap to buy anyway.

Unable to export video from camcorder to PC

Get a 4-pin Firewire cable. Plugs in just below power plug slot. What plug you need on the other end depends on your computer. You can get Firewires in 4 to 4 pin; 4 to 6 pin, and 4 pin to USB. My laptop is configured to take a 4 or 6 pin Firewire but my desktop only has USB. I transfered using 4 to 4 pin and it worked great. No drivers, no discs needed...at least with Vista. As soon as I plugged in the camera, I was asked to whether I wanted to transfer from biginning of tape or at currenty location. I chose from the beginning and the camera automatically rewound and strated to transfer to the PC. I don't know if it would work same way with 4-wire Firewire to USB but assume it would. Cables around $35 but I purchased at Circuit City for the going out of business discount. I also bought some SD cards so I can take snapshots and transfer them too for print.

Get a firewire and you should be fine.

I dont know how to down load pictures on to my pc

If you have a USB cable supplied, use that and a pop-up should appear on your computer (this may only work if the camera is switched on). Or, use a memory card reader to get the files off the memory card.

Can't down load video from camera to new computer with vista ????

I don't have vista, but you might want to try a firewire (mini dv) cable, I know my computer crashes when I try to get the video from through the usb cable, but works fine when i use the mini dv cable.

Hi, I always take the memory card out of my camera and use a card reader via the USB port. This way I am not dependent on the camera having sufficient battery power or having to connect to an AC adaptor.
