As soon as I put the Battery in the ignition starts clicking. The Ignition button is not pushed in and the wiring is correct.

Check the switch with the wires disconnected from the board with an ohm meter. There should be NO continuity when the button is not pressed. If there is , replace the switch. If it checks OK then replace the board.

Infared burners ignitor won't work

Mike, have you replaced the battery in the igniter button ye? That's the first place to start troubleshooting. Be sure you install the new battery facing the same direction as the old battery. Also, check the interior contacts of the battery holder for corrosion. If you find any, use a Q-Tip sprayed with a little WD40 to clean it.

If the above doesn't solve the problem, trace the igniter wire from the igniter button to the spark igniter at the burner for damaged wire or a loose connection.

And finally, try match lighting the infrared burners to make sure that they are getting an adequate flow of gas.

Hope this helped you t troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling and thanks for choosing FixYa.

I replaced an ignition switch on my grill and again it is not functioning. It has new batteries but no clicking or igniting any of the spark ignitors. Is it still an ignition switch problem or could...

First off, is the battery installed in the proper position. The positive (+) end should be facing out. I that's not the problem, check the ground wire to make sure it is connected solidly and no rust in underneath it. Then check all the wires to each ignitor , making sure they are not damaged.

Hi, Kirk. The positive end of the battery should face you, when you install it. Before you rush out to buy a new ignition module, check all the wiring from the module to to each spark ignite. You want to make sure that all wiring is in intact, that the ground wire for the module is attached to the grill frame and that the spark igniters are clean & free of grease.

If you find you need to replace the igniter module, you can find it at the following link.
http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/search/partinfo.php?partsID=496283&modelsID=124200

Hope this helps you. Don't forget you can match light the burners if necessary, until the igniter module is replaced. Happy Grilling!!

My main spark ignitor has stopped working. The rotissary ignitor still works. Could be out of adjustment. How to fix?

Some of these grills came with a battery operated spark igniter, try to screw of the button part of the clicker of the top. If your has this type it will unscrew and you will see a battery there to replace. IF not you will need to buy a new one and try to find the battery opp. one they will last longer. Not a serviceable part if it has quit working other than replace it.

Hi Vinodraaj_jp, it should be noted that in order to "PROPERLY" diagnosis any electric starter issue it is "IMPERATIVE" that you begin with a fully charged battery 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a proper load test, and the usual suspects are:
1. Battery terminals have loose or corroded connections.
2. Battery cables faulty due corroded or broken internal wiring at the cable connector especially the "NEGATIVE" cable which needs to be checked at "BOTH" ends.
3. Battery voltage, 12.5 volts or better,to the main circuit breaker to the ignition switch to the security/ignition fuse to the TSM/TSSM module to the engine stop/run switch to the starter button to the starter relay to the green wire that connects to the starter solenoid has dropped more than 1/2 volt.
4. With a voltmeter connected to the battery, the ignition switch in the on position, the kill switch in the run position, the starter button depressed, starter engagement should not bring voltage below 8-9 volts.
If a lower voltage is produced a proper battery load test should be performed with a load tester to validate battery integrity or battery replacement.
5. Faulty starter relay, check continuity.
6. Faulty starter solenoid, check contact plate and shoes for excessive electrical erosion/etching, refurbish as necessary or invert contact plate and use the virgin backside. Check contact shoes for being loose. Replace solenoid if the negative function is still a final outcome.
7. Faulty starter, bench test starter with a 12-volt battery if negative function check, decontaminate and undercut armature commutator segments as necessary, check segments with an ohm-meter probe each one and the segment next to it for shorts. Have the armature tested with a growler and field coils, and brush plate with an ohm-meter for opens, shorts or grounds. Replace brushes if less than .438" It is generally cheaper to overhaul/refurbish a starter motor than buy a new one.

Igniter failed on two new Grillmaster grills. Replaced battery...get a humming noise but no spark.

Water has gotten on the inside of the igniter cause it's not sealed inside the battery compartment at the negative terminal. If it's humming, getting all the water out should fix it. But it's still possible it may not.

Igniter will not work

I believe this grill has a push button electronic ignition. The first thing to check is to remove the top and replace the battery, be sure the battery is put in correctly. If this does not fix the problem, check the wiring from the igniter to each electrode for breaks, shorts, or disconnected. If these things do not work, start by replacing the igniter itself.

Clean or replace the main igniter. The backs corrode and need to be cleaned or replaced. Home Depot carry replacement parts.
