It was the GE Profile Model 26 but we finally found the solution in a Samsung manual. You push and hold the energy saver and Adjust Freezer buttons together for 3 seconds, and it resets the controls... thanks.

HOW DO I PUT A GE 31949 OR 3977 SIDE BY SIDE REFRIGERATOR INTO DEMO MODE?

Those numbers are not good model numbers. If you have the owners book it should tell you or go to GE.COM and read the manual off their site. It probably just a matter of pressing 2 control pads at the same time for a set number of seconds.

Samsung rs263tdbp and demo/cool off mode will not turn off

from the manuals Page 1. Activating/Deactivating Cooling Off Mode When the refrigerator is in Cooling Off Mode (aka Demo Mode) the display will read "OF OF, O FF, or OFF OFF." Cooling Off Mode prevents the unit from cooling. It is used by retailers to display units without wasting energy.
Note: Models without digital displays will display scrolling lines when the unit is in Cooling Off Mode.
rs261_demo_animation_250.gifrf221_rf220_rl220_rl225_display_demo_250_1.gif
Tip: If your display panel has buttons that have to be pushed in to perform any functions, replace the word "Touch" with "Push" or "Press" in the following steps.
  1. Touch and hold the top two buttons on the left side of the display panel.
  2. Important: You must touch the 2 buttons at the exact same time. Not doing so will result in an unsuccessful attempt to activate/deactivate Cooling Off Mode.

    Notes:
    • As long as the display panel is located on the exterior of the left door of your refrigerator you will use the top two buttons on the left side of the display panel to activate/deactivate Cooling Off Mode.
    • If your display panel is located inside of the unit along the door frame you will need to locate the words "Cooling Off (Hold 3 sec)" printed on the panel. The Power Freeze and Freezer buttons are the two buttons used for Cooling Off mode on these models.
    • Wi-Fi Touchscreen displays on RF4289* and RSG309* are exceptions to this article. Cooling Off Mode is activated/deactivated through the settings menu.

Can't set the temp it blinks 0

If "0F 0F" appears on the display, the refrigerator is in DEMO MODE. To exit Demo Mode for controls on the outside of door, Press and Hold the Energy Saver and Adjust Freezer buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. To exit Demo Mode for controls inside the Fresh Food Compartment, Press and Hold the Ice Off and Freezer buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. You will hear a beep and "0F 0F" will no longer be displayed. Adjust Refrigerator and Freezer temperature to the desired settings. Allow 24 hours for temperatures to stabilize.

I just bought this refridgerator which was a floor model. The lights are working but it doesn't seem to be cooling. The display also shows the temperature to be 0 F for both the freezer and...

It's in demo mode which allows the store to have the interior lights and display illuminated without wasting energy on cooling an empty unit.

To switch this off, hold the Energy Saver and Adjust Freezer buttons simultaneously for about 3 seconds.

Hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please let me know.

Ok, I had the same problem with this fridge. It is in "demo" mode. You have to push in and hold the Energy Save and Adjust Freezer buttons at the same time. Hold these in until the display starts flashing. You should hear the compressor kick on. I did this, and it was fixed and started cooling in a matter of seconds.
