Question about Washing Machines

Samsung WF-J1254(V/S/C/R) leaks water around the detergent door, allowing water to run down the outside of the machine, and onto the floor. This is the second machine that we have had during the last thee weeks. The first one had the same problem.

I have exactly the same problem with my brand new Samsung... have no idea why it does it and there seems to be no obvious reason why?

  • yulcanada Jul 24, 2008

My initial delivery of my Samsung WF-J1254 front-loading washer was

replaced because the first time I used the machine it leaked all over the floor. I have had the hot water hose replaced three times. The hose seems to burst under pressure and a **** of about 1-2 inches appears on the hose. During the time I am waiting for the part to be replaced, the serviceman has advised me to use only a cold water wash cycle and the

washer does not leak. Their technician now advises me that the housing drawer needs to be replaced. Samsung has been advised of my complaint and I continue to pay for parts and service calls.

I have finally found a reference in Samsung's own knowledgebase, online in which they indicate that this appliance was designed for European water pressure systems and that in the US and Canada, often water pressure can be much higher than in Europe (although the manual says it is good for 800kpa, which is a darn sight higher than they use in Europe, I think European domestic supply is regulated to 400kpa).

Whatever the case may be, I have noticed that my house has what appears to be rather high water pressure (subjectively of course). So, first I checked the leaking with it set to a cold only cycle, and low and behold, greatly diminished (since it was only drawing water from one line, hence a lower volume of water). Then I closed both supply taps about 2 thirds the way, and voila, problem is gone.

It makes way less noise now when filling, and I cannot really tell that the washtime has been extended excessively due to the longer fill times?

Would love some feedback if this fixes your problem?

Bosch washer error code f 23? how to handle this matter...thnks

F23 is flood protection in base of machine activated. Pull machine forward onto a towel, pivot if 45 degrees forward onto the front feet (ie lift back feet of the floor about a foot) If water runs out from under the machine this will prove this. You will find that the machine will probably work ok now, but you will have to trace the leak of it will reoccur. likely causes are tear in door seal, leaky inlet valve, blocked dispenser inlet or as simple as something was caught in door on previous cycle allowing water to run down the front of the unit and into the base.
Hope this helps

I have a Miele W4840 front load washer and there is water leaking from the door. I've checked the seal and it doesn't seem to be damaged, but there is a definite leak. Please advise.

first make sure your detergent drawer is not popping open. water will run out from beneath the drawer, run over to the top of the door, run down the door, and then straight down to the floor. If you are not leaking out of the detergent drawer, the next thing down is the bottom of the glass door. look at the glass where it contacts the door seal at the bottom. It should be clean and smooth. Most likely you will find lint, hair, and soap residue. that needs to be cleaned off. any surface imperfections will cause a slow drip or trickle of water to come out of the lowest part of the door. If that is fine, and it is still leaking, open the cover to the drain pump on the bottom right of the front of the machine. Make sure that drain pump filter is tight. run the machine with that little drain access door open and see if you are leaking from there. If none of the above helps, and you are still getting water leaking from the door, miele has designed a new clamping ring for the door seal. Call them and make arrangements to have it replaced.

Bosch Axxis WFL2060 stopped working on a wash cycle. The first time I used liquid HE detergent. I am sure I put too much in and the interior foamed up, the detergent tray foamed up and came out underneath...

water in base after overfoaming has leak detection if you can tip machine back this water will run onto floor allowing unit to rest, make sure you put down some rags towel etc to trap water there will be up to a pint of water.

Suds remain after full cycle

I would personally look at a cold water supply problem, since cold water is what's used in the rinse cycle. Check the water inlet valve. Remove the water supply hoses and check the small screens inside the water inlets. (especially on the cold water side). Make sure they are clear of rust or debris. Check the solenoids at the inlet valve. Use a multimeter or ohmmeter to test for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty solenoid. I will attach a photo for reference. It could be a detergent or even a pump issue, but I would check the cold water supply first. Hope this helps and best wishes.

Ma samsung wf j1254 is not stable, i leveled many times before

It could be. The front feet have to be manually adjusted but the rear feet are self leveling. If the wood is giving enough to allow the frame to touch ground then it could cause a leveling problem. The front feet are made of plastic on the newer machines if the plastic foot is stripped out, it could be allowing the machine to become un-level during operation.

Water leaks

I had similar issue. Fill tube running from the bottom of detergent tray to the washer drum was plugged.... (by a sock!!!). How did it get there? I'll tell you. You see the drum seal (around the inside of the door) is not a tight seal. You can actually reach up behind it from where it meets the top of the drum. Anyway in my case, a sock made it's way through that seal and outside the drum and into the drum containment vessel. So when the drum spun (to dry the clothes and empty the water) it made a terrible noise. The sock became lodged at the base of the fill tube opening and plugged it thus not allowing any water into the drum. Instead, when filling, the water just flowed out from the bottom of the detergent tray and onto the floor. I hope this helps.
