scan for virus in it and then try to format it if cant then there is an loose contact between the connect er and the memory location if you r still in warranty period just exchange it

Formating a Hard Disk loose a very tiny capacity which we can't sense. Sandisks are very fast one. Ithin your USB drivers are not updated.

SOURCE: I AM UNABLE TO FORMAT/ OPEN SANDISK SDCZ-008G (CRUZER BLADE)

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you could see a yellow question / exclamation mark? ! or a red X

you will need to update/reinstall drivers

right click to reinstall drivers


if you can see your usb drive but its not working

ports (com&lpt) right click update driver

You have to be the computers administrator to change any values on any hard drive on your computer


click start control panel user accounts on the users tab click the name of the computer administrator you must have full control


click start click to open on my computer you should see your usb drive could be E: or something right click select properties there will be an array of options

select the sharing tab option then advanced sharing make sure you have a tick in the share this folder box


then click permissions make sure you have all 3 boxes ticked full control changes and read in windows 7


click start control panel user accounts click on the administrators account if you have made one or you will have to create one in windows XP

click start right click on my computer select open
Right click the icon of your usb drive (It should be E:/ or something)
Click Properties in the menu that comes up
Click the Sharing tab
Click permissions
And finally, click Allow next to Full Control.

Dear Friend,

IMPORTANT!: Save all your data first then, uninstall the U3 Software then, Format the drive to FAT32, pass all your data back to your thumb drive and try in your car radio. If the problem persist, try to format it to NTFS format.

I bought a SanDisk 4GB Cruzer blade before 3 weeks and mistakenly i removed it without safely removed it and ever sice keep asking me to format it when ever i plug it into my computer i tried to format...


use another computer to format the disk.. if still the same bring it to a computer service center...make sure to watch your disk to avoid switching.. goodluck..

insert your pen drive
click start click on my computer you should see your pen drive
right click then select format
another way is to control panel administrive tools,computer management disk management right click on your drive select format

Sandisk Cruzer Micro 2GB Usb Flash Drive. Windows was unable to complete format!


Try this:

STEP 1 - Optimize the flash drive for performance
1. Plug in the device to the PC.
2. Double-click My Computer.
3. Right-click on the flash drive, then select Properties.
4. Click the Hardware tab.
5. Select the SanDisk Cruzer USB Device disk drive, then click Properties.
6. Click the Policies tab.
7. Select Optimize for performance, then click OK.

STEP 2 - Format the flash drive
1. Double-click My Computer.
2. Right-click on the flash drive, then select Format.
3. In the File system list, click NTFS.
4. Click Start.
5. Click OK to start formatting.

When I plug in my Sandisk Cruzer 4GB USB it says format it, when i try it says windows can not finish formatting. What shall I do?


Your Sandisk Cruzer 4GB USB can no longer be formatted. It is damaged or corrupted by virus. The only thing you can do is change it.

New cruzers will not accept files


Please format the drive first then it will work when first time it is working with pen drive are ant hard drive you should format the drive then try to copy the files with NTFS are FAT formats
