Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

Most likely the temperature thermostats need to be replaced...or...if the dryer is gas fired, the electrical coils near the gas burner need to be replaced (from my experience with a Maytag gas dryer)...

Dryer not blowing hot air

When you say 220 gas dryer I'm not sure what you mean. If it's 220V then it should be an electric dryer, not a gas dryer. Troubleshooting is totally different between gas and electric. If it's electric (large 30A 220V plug) then good chance heating element(s) have gone bad. You can look up parts on www.searspartsdirect.com Have your complete model number. IF it's gas, it may be the pilot ignition has failed

I have a gas dryer that has a bad thermostst how can it be replaced Do 110 dryers use more electricity than the 220, are they safe

The thermostat is located in the back, behind the back panel and mouted on the air discharge from the drum before it entered the blower that blows it out via the vent. They are normally snap-disc style thermostats and can be ordered from sears parts direct online or purchased at most sears appliance parts stores. Gas dryers also have at least two over-temperature devices to prevent an overheat condition that may lead to a fire. One is normally a snap-disc thermostat (some with a manual reset) and the second is usually a thermal-fuse that must be replaced...not reset. 110 gas dryers use a lot less electricity than 220 electric dryers since all they have to do is turn the drum and blow the air (heat comes from a gas flame) where the 220-volt electrics have electric heating elements that comsume large amounts of power. Yes, I would consider then safe as long as they are vented correctly.

OUR KENMORE DRYER BLOWS OUT COLD AIR

It's most likely a thermal fuse if it's a gas dryer. very easy to install. If your dryer is electric, it's either the thermal cut-off or the heating element itself. If you need help with anything, please feel free to e-mail me. good luck :)

Gas Dryer isn't producing any hot air or heat

Sears will not tell you before they come. It will be over $150 when they come out. There are several possible parts, Thermal fuse, ignitor, thermostat, coil on the valve. Verifying voltage to the valve will tell you where to look next. If it is a thermal fuse then what caused it to blow needs fixed or it will just go again.(over heat due to restricted air flow or stuck thermostat). You should be able to get the parts for under $50.

My dryer is ot blowing hot air

Remove the heater vent, then turn dryer on. Does this fix problem? If so then you have a block in your vent hose.
