The Proficient Infrared Systems, IR Fish Eye Receiver comes with 2 different covers.
One is 50 degrees, and one is a more restrictive 30 degrees.
Try switching to the 30 degree one and make sure it is not aimed near any fluorescent light.
Another thing you can try is using new tubes in the fluorescent fixtures, that have less flicker and produce less in the IR spectrum.
Here is the manual:

The suppressors he is talking about are to dampen the emf pulses through the electrical lines. This is similar to adding a capacitor to your car radio in order to reduce interference from your ignition. But it won't work. Your IR system is not sensitive to emf, because it already supresses AC emf pulses when it converts to DC internally. That is not the problem.
The problem is the photon light spectrum emitted by the florescent, that are being picked up by the IR receiver. What you need to do is to narrow the focus of the IR receivers, and point them away from the florescents. When florescents start to go bad, they also start to flicker a lot, so you could also have a tube going bad. Remove then one at a time, in order to determine if one is the main problem.

Hello sir, hi, does your IR system have the anbient noise suppressor, this device should protect your IR system from those noises generated by the flourescent lamp. if not you may need to buy a suppressor circuit, inquire at any electrical shops for it.

depending on the design, just simply plug it on an available outlet. some needs your ir system pass through the suppressor.

Hi I recently change the main board of my protron 32"pltv television and my remote control does not work anymore, do I need to change the IR remote receiver

You will need the scope to find out if the IR receiver is putting out the signal to the main board, or take a chance by replacing the IR board. Did the remote work before changing the main board?

Testing remote control:
The remote control puts out IR (InfraRed) signal that human eyes cannot see, to find out if the remote is sending out the signal or not you just point the remote at the digital camera’s Lens (Digital Camera can detect IR), you should see flashing light on the camera’s screen when any one of the remote button is pushed. If you do see the flashing on the camera, then the problem is in the TV IR receiver or the main logic board; more troubleshooting with scope will be needed to look at the signals.

Just a wild guess.

Does this receiver have line-of-sight with windows? Some other Infra-Red source in or out of your home may be affecting it. Try covering the IR 'eye' on the receiver to see if it stops happening.

I have an IR on my Media Center PC and the l.e.d. on it will light up whenever it receives a command, no matter what remote I use. Of course, it doesn't actually do anything unless I use its remote. Occasionally, it will blink even when I'm not using any remotes, so clearly it is seeing IR from somewhere.

Rca rtd170 shuts off randomly except when IR eye on receiver is covered. When IR eye on receiver is covered, it runs for ever! No other remotes in vicinity (same room) as receiver. What could be...

Something else in the IR band is being interpreted as a turn off signal. If you directionally shield the IR eye you may be able to deduce from which direction it originates (keeping in mind that IR can bounce off of solid objects). Anything that emits might be doing it. Once you identify the direction you may figure out what it is and how to shield from it. I'm sure you'll figure it out.

We are possibly buying a house with no toilet upstairs, there are 3 double bedrooms, how much will it cost to put a partition up and install a toilet?

If you just want a half bath (sink, mirror, toilet, lighting, vent, and flooring, you can build a small one for about $6,000. Remember you will want to finish the walls, and add baseboards, and a door.I would hit the seller up for a reduction in sales price. Nobody has upstairs bedrooms without baths anymore.

Arc fault breaker trips sporadically

Are there any heaters anywhere in the circuit for this breaker? (ie: bathroom fan w/light and heater) If yes, I would suspect and inspect them first. Also, any type breaker will trip more easily if the electrical connection screws on the breaker are not tight enough...check to make sure that's not the case.

Dish IR Remote 20.0 has problems after sunset.

The problem for me was the TV giving off IR signals that interfered with DISH's poorly designed remote. When the TV's room ambient light sensor was turned on and it became dusk outside the DISH remote would stop working. Moving the receiver away from the TV helps but the problem is not eliminated until the light sensor is turned off.
Until DISH corrects this poor design there may be no other viable solution.
