After starting up the computer with the wireless receiver, keyboard and mouse attached,, (with good batteries in both) install the CD software program and thenif it doesn't work follow these instructions:

Normal 0 Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the receiver.

If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud

Replaced Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 doesn't work

I would have suggested opening up your old mouse and cleaning the right click button first.

Generally, wireless devices have a connect button that finds the frequencies of the devices. On the receiver press this button, then press the button on the bottom of your new mouse. the receivers lights will stop flashing once connected.

Get Keyboard Working

Yes in that case you should be able to use them without installing the microsoft software (at least the main keys of the keyboard, specialty keys will probably need software). Are you certain there is only the one USB plug for the receiver? No other plugs coming off of it?

I think we are getting close to solving it! =)

Keyboard Keys Don't Work

Microsoft keyboards do need software installed, it's called Microsoft IntelliPoint (for mouse), and Microsoft IntelliType (for keyboard).

There should be a button on the USB receiver that plugs into your computer. Push it. It should start blinking.

Next, turn your keyboard upside down, and look for a button. It should be pretty easy to find, probably white, and it has some etchings nearby. Press that button, and hold your keyboard up close to the usb receiver.

There is also a similar button on the bottom of your mouse. Do the same thing for the mouse: push the usb button, then push the button on the bottom of the mouse, and hold it close to the usb receiver.

Dynex wireless mouse DX-PWLMSE won't work

The mouse should be Plug and Play. Did you install the drivers before plugging the mouse's receiver in? The PC has to have the drivers first in order to take advantage of the Plug and Play capability. If you plugged the mouse's receiver in before installing the drivers, unplug the mouse receiver, uninstall the driver, reboot your PC, reinstall the driver, then plug the receiver in and you should be fine.

Otherwise, press the Connect button on the receiver first, and then the Connect button on the mouse, and that should establish the connection. You don't need to disable your touch pad in order to use the mouse.
