Question about HP Compaq Presario V6000T Notebook

Compaq Laptop Not booting

I have only had my COmpaq Presario V6000 laptop for a little over a year and all of sudden I got a box saying it would shut down in one minute and it started a countdown. Ever since I've been trying to boot it, if it does get past the windows screen it starts going crazy and then goes black.
Is this a hard drive problem??

I tried to do that, which is good advice you gave but the thing is the screen won't stay on long enough for me to get that. It isn't going past the windows boot screen...if it even gets that far. Any suggestions? Could it be overheated? Compaq is telling me I have to pay 400 + dollars to get it fixed, which is obsurd so I'm trying to get it done for nothing through myself and a friend. Any ideas?

i think my problem is bassicallly ther same. it started out showing me a blue screen when it got the the bar that has the 3 green blocks going accross, never even got to the earsplitting vista startup sound. i ran some system repair stuff in launch system repair, but all it did was get the screen to not come up, go past the loading bar thing, show a black screen with a cursor , but no vista startup stuff. if it is indeed not the harddrive itsself but instead it is just a file that is messed up keeping the computer to boot, waht if i somehow attach it to another comouter that has its own main harddrive, as an eternal or something so that its not used for the working of the system but inatead as if it is just a external harddrive, just holding things. i say this cause i dont wanna lose my files, and after runnning CHKDSK C: /R it said that i have about 40GB free, which is about how much i had left b4 this all happened, so i think they r still there. so, in theory, wouldnt i b able to access those files from it thru a computer that is already running so it doesnt need the files from my harddrive that r corrupt?

This is not a hard drive problem. The reason for the display of the box showing the message is that one or more of your critical system processes got stopped somehow. Your system files may have got corrupted and may be as a result of that your computer is behaving weird. I too had the same experience.
Try reinstalling the Operating System. It sure did work for me.

You need to download the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP or Vista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them.

You should start tapping the F11 key right after you turn the laptop on. It should go into the recovery mode, and you can select either a windows recovery (saving your data) or a full destructive recovery. If you feel you have picked up a virus, the destructive recovery is best, as this will put the laptop back to like new, out of the box condition.

I need for my compaq presario v6000.

You can get the wireless drivers in the laptop itself. U need to type in the start search as recovery manager and when the window is opened, click on the advanced options and select the option hardware driver installation. Search for the sound driver and select it and it get re-installed. If this doesnt work try to go to hp.com and select support and drivers and enter the product number of the laptop and follow the onscreen instructions.
Thanks and Regards

Charging problem.

Since your laptop is one year old, i guess you still have warranty on it. Your battery is bad and you need a new one. Go to the shop and request a new one by the warranty.
