Question about PfaFF Sewing Machines

Open Question

My Pfaff tiptronic 6270 presser foot is sticking and now does not put the right pressure on the fabric layers. It does seem to work better after about 30 minutes of use. I purchased the machine new approximately 11 years ago and I have used it very much over the years.

SOURCE: Pfaff Tiptronic 6270 just stopped working!

There is a fuse in the the base plate that has blown. It is soldered in and is special fuse you won't find at Radio Shack. Unfortunatly it needs to be fixed by a Pfaff dealer on someone with access to the fuse. If you have the work done, make sure they replace a certain reisitor on the base plate at the same time to prevent this from happening again (per Paff).
Sorry for the bad news and best of luck.

SOURCE: Presser foot adjustment for fine fabric

Hi there, On the top of the machine in the left corner, there should be a knob of sorts. If you turn it to the right, it will releases some of the tension on the fabric. But you don't want to loosen it too much otherwise you won't feed the fabric thru at all.

SOURCE: Have a Pfaff 6270 tiptronic

Hi, well most often when this happens, it is either the Power Supply, or the Controller. However, it also maybe any one of a myriad of "Other" faults, that unfortunately display the same symptoms, ie: lights on, No go, No display..

The very best thing you can do is take it into a Pfaff authorsied servicing center, contact either a local or head office, and ask for a referral to a local service center.

now when there, ask them for a "Quote"as to the repair, and if the "Quote" seems acceptable to you then you have the option of repairing or replacing depending on costings.

HV sapphire 930 not feeding properly

When stitching together a quilt sandwich, it is recommended to use a walking foot on your machine. The walking foot moves the upper fabric in conjunction with the feed dogs. Sometimes, if the quilt sandwich is not too thick, a roller foot can also help but may not be sufficient for a quilt sandwich.

You may also check the presser foot pressure on your machine. This regulates the amount of pressure the presser foot applies to the fabric and the feed dogs. If the pressure is too strong, it will tend to push the upper layers of fabric, creating a bubble look. If the pressure is too loose, there is not enough pressure for the feed dogs to physically pull entire quilt sandwich under the presser foot.
(The pressure is adjustable depending on the types of fabric and thicknesses being sewn.)

Singer Quantum XL 3400. How do I adjust the presser foot to decrease pressure when quilting several layers?

The owner's manual would most likely have the information. If there is an adjustment is is most likely on the top left of the machine or on the left side of the cover (over the needlebar).

If you are sewing slick fabric that shifts under the presser foot, try using a walking foot or a roller foot.

Can the presser foot be raised slightly on pfaff tiptronic 2030 to facilitate free motion quilting? There is not enough clearance with feed dogs down to freely move material to quilt. Thank you.

You need a special foot for free motion quilting--it is slightly shorter in height than a regular presser foot, which essentially provides space between the presser foot and the needle plate to manually move the fabric. Sometimes machines came with a standard darning foot accessory. Your Pfaff dealer probably has at least one style in stock. But there are other specialty feet you can probably use, ie Big Foot, clear free motion foot, C-shaped, oval, etc. You can also purchase a shank adapter (verify it is the correct shank for your machine) and use it with a kit of snap-on presser feet so you can have a variety of presser feet for different functions.

My Pfaff Tiptronic 6270 does not sew.

Try unplugging the power cord from the machine, let it set for a few minutes and try plugging in again. Sometimes this will reset the machine.

Bernina 1230 Is there a way to adjust the pressure on the presser foot?

Just checked on U-Tube there are several video's there for problems, otherwise there is a spring at the top of the needle shaft that can be loosened. Good Luck!

Fabric does not move forward

Either the presser foot does not have enough pressure on it or it is not lowering all the way to the fabric.
Remove the fabric.lower the presser foot.If the presser foot has no or little pressure look for the pressure regulator on top the machine or on the left side and see if you can make it tighter. Not all machines have this.Look to see if there is space between the foot and the teeth when you turn the handwheel. If there is space then the machine needs an adjustment.
