Hi and thank you for using fixya:
This happens when the fuser is not getting hot enough to start the printing process. This could be happening because the fuse is already failing. Try calling samsung see how much is a new fuser
You need to take it a couple steps further after your test print. Sounds like your print heads need cleaning or your cartridge may need aligning. It's best to do this each time you install a new cartridge. get more information and help from here .
Not a good sign. Is it a paper smoke smell or an electrical smell. If it is an electrical smell then the printer is faulty. I suggest you get a new printer.
If it is a burnt paper smell then it most likely a paper jamb at the fuser unit. Remove the toner cartridge to get access to the fuser and remove the paper (let the printer cool down first because the fuser unit is very hot).
As with any device that heats up you will see a draw on a 115 volt outlet depending on what else is on the same BREAKER, not outlet. 350 watts is only about 3A compared to some hairdryers that exceed 15A. A 220 unit would help but not much. I suggest making sure you "put it to sleep" as soon as possible after printing unless you are just constantly printing and can't wait for the warm ups.
Samsung fuser units are very suceptible to voltage variations and get damaged easily. The fuser's thermofuse probably got damaged and became unable to read temperature. The only way to get it fis is to replace the fuser in an Authorized Service Center (ASC). Your unit has a 1 year complete warranty coverage by Samsung and any real ASC without charging you.
After the unit is fixed, get a good transient surge suppresor to help protect the unit. Good luck.
