Minolta 2430DL Jams on the first Page of the Job and then Works Fine....

The printer jams on the first page of the print job and then works fine.

IT has done this for at least a year now.. Minolta Phone support was not able to resolve this during the warranty period. Now I am on my own..

I took a picture of where it jams.. It almost looks like it get caught on the little lever or whatever in the middle circled in red.

Thanks,
Jeff

They are the stripper fingers and can sometimes pop out of position because of build up, you may want to try to clean these and check this specific finger against the other ones to make sure it is seated exactly like the others are...they are spring loaded so be careful when you back them away from the heatroll to clean them, they can be a real joy to put back in without the proper tools...

When printing color the paper jams. This does not happen when printing black. How do I stop it from jamming when printing color.

Is that true for both print and copy job ?
Where does the jam happen ?

I am thinking if it is at the paper pickup roller area just as the job starts to print and not midway while printing, check the paper quality; dirty pickup roller; clean cork pad and try job from another tray

Constant Paper Jam

check the wheels that pick it from the tray.
If they feel smooth, try to put some tape on them and rip it back off.
This cleans the wheels. Also try a new pack of paper and check if it\'s set to plain paper and not to heavier or coated paper

Printer jams only when I put paper into the tray, and not when I feed the paper manually

in your paper feed tray there is a paper separation pad which is setup on a spring.just scratch it with some fine sand paper and clean with IP solution.

I own a CP1215 which is barely a month old. It worked fine until yesterday. Suddenly, each time I attempt to print, it gets stuck as it comes out. I followed a tip I found online and close the back tray...

This might not be a solution, but rather something to get your job done if nothing else (if it works):

Try using the "manual feed" tray instead of the paper tray. Depending on where the jam is occurring in the machine, it could bypass that spot and print fine.

Best of luck!

My HP LaserJet 2430dtn Paper jam

Try this, make a print from the by-pass tray, does it go OK or jam??
If it jams then there is a problem with the paper feed from the tray.
If it jams then
1-check the drum and see if there is an image on it( you can put a mark on the edge to see if it's rotating, thus eliminating the drum unit)
2-same for the reg roller
3-check for labels ar foreign objects

Printer only works after test page is printed

possible causes:
1. printer driver conflict to other program. Try reinstallation.
2. virus or spyware. check and clean
