That means that the monitor is in forced standby. This happens when an internal fault is detected. The state is called protection or protect mode.

Try first leaving the unit disconnected from power for 15/20 mins, that will probably not fix the problem, but is a necessary step in troubleshooting. (general indications here Why my TV does not start up and remains in standby.Guidelines are valid for all TV. Under protect mode TV will act in different ways depending on model)

The unit is repaired testing the internal component.

This TV comprises few boards: a Button/IR board, a digital controller board, a PSU, an inverter.

If you are a repairer, testing willl start from PSU, following voltages on main board and testing the inverter.

Parts can be tested following this procedure : A full test ...

the best way to contact an authorized technician is by ringing the number listed on the owners manual. Alternatively try Fixya directory here:Fixya directory- Consumer Products Repair

Hi,

One of many possible causes are related to power supply

( DC side ).

On DC side ( after the Main plug ) there is a standby

Circuit about 9V dc which initially start the SMPS

power supply to " Run " condition.

When voltages are applied to the Circuits they are

monitored by a Microprocessor to determine whether there

is a fault among the Voltage outputs and if it does it

halts the system.

If there is blinking on the LED, have a check first on

the front panel tact switches.

If there is no power at all ( even standby ) then one

has to start from the Standby power supply.

here is a typical Standby Circuit i am talking about

in schematics:

Troubleshooting

It could also be just a cold solder joint

There could be other causes but let start with these

first.

I will await for what you have found , to resolve the

problem on your TV.

Is the outlet powered? Try turning set on with own power button? Remote power button? If still nada, then check to see if something is amiss with the power supply section of set. Look for bad caps and diodes.

My philips tv wont turn on

Have you tried either replacing the batteries in the remote or using the power button on the tv when it was plugged in? Have you checked that the outlet is properly powered and that there isn't any fault in the power cable running to the back of the tv?

My 32LG350 wont turn on. I just pluged it for the first time i bought it like a month ago. it was working but suddenly it turned off by itself and wont turn on either by pushing the TV on/off boton neither...

Try unplugging the the TV from the power outlet for 30 seconds to a minute and plug back in again. Try to turn on again. Some TV's have to be in a "ready mode" to operate by remote - so besure it is in that mode - or use the power button on the TV.

Good luck!

I pressed the power button, but the tv wont turn on

Please check if the power cord is connected properly in the wall outlet and in the TV. Check the wall outlet. Has it got power? Check if there is red light when the power is switched on at the wall outlet. If there is red light then press the power button. Does the TV turn on? If not then your power button is defective and requires replacement as it is not making contact. Also please try to start your TV WITH THE REMOTE CONTROL. At times it helps.

TV just went off and wont turn back on, Is there a reset button?

There is no reset button per say, try unplugging the tv for a few minutes and plug it back in again and see if it will reset. If not then you may have a component failure in your set.

My sharp tv wont turn on

I don't know if you have this problem but I had a similar problem aswell. My TV remote and my universal remote wouldn't turn on or perform any of the funtions as they should. This is what I did to fix it: 1. unplug the TV from the power outlet. 2. take the batteries out of your TV remote. 3. press the power button on the TV remote, and then press every other single button one by one from left to right (as if you were reading a book). 4. plug the power cord back in the power outlet. 5. replace the batteries in your TV remote. 6. try turning on the TV using the factory remote.
These steps, as weird as they sound, worked just fine for me. My TV is now responding to my remote and my cable remote is able to control the TV again. No, I did not loose the universal (cable) remote's TV codes. FYI. the steps mentioned above were performed using the TV native remote (factory remote). Hope this will work out for you as well. And if you are wondering how I knew this would work, well I saw the same steps on another website (sorry I can't remember which website it was) and decided to give it a try before I took the TV back to BestBuy for warranty repair...which would have taken like two weeks.

Timer light blinks on and off and tv wont turn on

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

NOTE:
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.
If ever resetting is no effect then the problem is in the "DM board"
The constant blinking green light means that the TV is not booting up. This is a common problem on this set. Hope it may help you; Regards, VOTIT
