Question about Philips HTS3566D/37 Theater System

1 Answer

My Philips HTS3566D home theater stereo system speakers do not work. Sound comes from the tv, but not from the speakers that came with the Philips unit. I've tried different modes (party, dolby, etc.) and nothing works. It used to work fine, and I can't imaging all the speakers blowing out at once, so I'm at a loss. Before the sound completely went out, it would go off then at random times, jump back on. Help!

How can I arrange the sound from DVD's to come from the Tv set rather than the MCD708 speakers

Run audio (and video) cables directly from the dvd player to the TV. Don't expect anything but stereo. BTW: this would be a good way to watch TV without the Philips turned on.

The BEST video from anything you watch should go to the TV (with analog audio); and the BEST audio fro manything you listen to should go to the Philips.

Installed new 1080 plasma tv can't get sound from home theater system

A home theater system usually consists of a dolby digital stereo amplifier and 5 to 7 speakers.

Turn your stereo on and select the source that delivers video to the TV (DVD, VHS, Game, etc.). The video may be connected directly from the device to the TV, but the audio should connect to the stereo system (DVD, VHS, or other input). This way, the source audio is sent to the stereo and it provides the big sound to match the picture. Otherwise, you'd have to connect the source audio to the TV and let it's comparably tiny amplifier and speakers provide sound - that comes up short.

When playing a DVD, select the DVD input on the TV *and* the DVD input on the stereo. If you do not connect the audio to the DVD input on the stereo system, you'll have to connect to the TV, otherwise nothing will be heard.

Phillips HTS3566D Home Theater/Comcast DVR 3 Device remote

I have the same problem. The only time that I can get it to work is whenever I turn on the cable box the home theater system turns on too. When I use the DVR it will turn it on too and want to play the CD/DVD. I have a Comcast Motorola DCH3416 DVR box.

Connection

Your TV should have an audio output which are red and white colored jacks, labeled audio out, on the back of your TV. There are also be the same inputs on the home theater system. You would have to buy an RCA cable which is inexpensive. You can then connect the TV from the audio out jack to the AUX 1 or 2 jack on the rear of your home theater system. Then select the AUX 1 or 2 input option (the one you hooked the cable into in the rear) on the home theater system, and you should be in business.
