The smart features work based on either wifi or a cable cat5 wire going into the set... if you use a smart tv you have to actually read up on your particular set, they aren't smart until you make them smart :)

You do not need a smart tv in order to use the roku. Basically the roku device makes your TV Smart. The basic connection is just an hdmi cable, and some type of internet connection. Depending on the Roku you have, you can either go with the built in wireless, or you can hard wire the internet. The same type of cable that you would use to hook up a computer to your router.

easiest way would be to connect the optical audio output from the tv to the optical input on the soundbar. You may have to go into the tv's setup menu and enable the audio output jack

I made the mistake of selecting the largest of the resolution settings of 1920x1080-50Hz. The CVD601 DOES NOT HAVE A RESET BUTTON! You have to do all your business on screen. So to regain my setting of 1280x720-60Hz, I disconnected from my TV and hooked up to my computer monitor. At that point, I got my picture back and went to settings. Upon restoring the settings in TV Screen Resolution to: 1280x720-60Hz just click and exit. In the US everything is based on the 60Hz cycle. Hence the hickup when you pick anything in the 50Hz cycle. There is no power cord. There is a battery compartment on the underside that hold 4 D size batteries.

Does it still have the green cord attached to the toy? It should plug right into your TV.

On mine the video is yellow also it takes 4 D batteries might want to be sure they are installed and also have the game cartridge installed,
