Why is my air conditioner not blowing cold air

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FAC107P1A, comes on with the compressor running, but the air is not cold. First, check to see that the temperature sensing element, located behind air filter, is not touching a cold coil. If it is, straighten the element away from the coil. Secondly, try resetting to a lower temperature. Lastly, the compressor may have shut-off by changing modes. Wait approximately 3 minutes and listen for compressor to restart when set in the COOL mode. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your air conditioner status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

Why isn't it blowing cold air and is dry inside, no water to drain out?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FAC124, is not blowing cold air and there is no water draining out. First, try setting the temperature to a lower temperature. Secondly, make sure the compressor did not shut off by switching modes. Make sure it is on cool and wait approximately 3 minutes and listen for the compressor to restart. My air conditioner is not blowing cold air. What can be done ?

look for a couple of things ... if the compressor just buzzes intermittantly but doesnt run then suspect its starting capacitor (small rounded metalic rectangle) .. that has wires connecting it to the compressor .. .. if you can hear the compressor start but it still doesnt cool then you likely need refrigerant added .. thats done by adding a saddle valve service port ... any leaks have to be repaired ..

When i turn a/c on. the motor barely spins. it wont even spin fast enough for the thermostat to kick in.

mcdevito75 here, Sounds like the fan motor is shot, Check with your local a/c repair shop or replace the unit.

Fan works but not blowing cold air

Is the compressor running? If it is then you are probably low on refrigerant and needs to be leak checked and recharged.

The compressor is running but not cooling.

Try the following to begin operating the air conditioner: 1. Plug in the air conditioner. (To prevent electrical hazards, do not use an extension cord or an adapter plug.) 2. Set the exhaust vent to the CLOSED position. 3. Press “On/Off” button to turn unit on. 5. Press Mode “COOL” 6. Press “TEMP/TIME” up or down V to the desired set temperature. Review the “Air Conditioner Features” section for other settings
