Question about Sharp Wizard OZ-730
# Initialize means to start over from scratch.
# The main memory is too jumbled for it to continue.
# The micro controller does not see any valid data so it wants to erase everything.
Check to see that the CARD LOCK switch is LOCKED and not in the
RELEASE position. You may have accidentally left it unlocked after
removing an IC card.
Check that the battery replacement switch on the back of the unit is in
the “NORMAL OPERATION” position. If the switch is in the “REPLACE
BATTERIES” position, the unit cannot be turned on.
Check or replace the operating batteries, even if you have just replaced
the batteries. It is possible that the batteries were not fresh when you
Press the RESET switch. If the unit has been dropped, for example, it
may have to be reset. This will not delete your data. If for any reason
data is missing after resetting the unit, it was lost before you pressed
the RESET switch. The RESET switch simply re-starts the unit.
* Do not reset the unit while holding down the ON button.
* If the procedures above do not work, the memory will have to be erased and you will have to revert to the last time the data was backed up.
You would ask :-
Why would the the organizer tell me to press the ON button while touching and releasing the RESET button if that was going to make me lose all my data?
Solution to the above Question :-
# Think of it as a damaged aircraft in flight --- you have to dump the extra fuel in the wing tanks to land safely.
# You can't save the fuel for later.
# There is no other choice if you want to save the machine for another day.

This means that your memory storage needs to be reformatted. And yes, this will wipe out everything that is personally stored on your OZ-730.
How did you perform a reset? You should hold down the Start key, push the RESET button on the bottom of the Organizer using paper clip. The following message will appear.
"Do you really want to initialize the organizer's memory (this will delete all data)? Yes:[ENTER/No:[ESC]
Choose YES. After the initialization, Welcome message will appear.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.
