What operating system?
What type of computer?
What amount of RAM?
Size of hard drive, and amount of space left?
What is the name of the program being updated?
What browser being used to get the update?
Is the update from auto updates, or being installed from the browser?

Without proper details it is impossible to determine any details...

When I plug in my dvd drive I get e-65, when

Hello,

E65 can be a real pain! I will assume you're getting that you get your E65 error from the drive that is all original with your xbox360 and has not been flashed. you could get the key form the drive to inject it into a new drive via a pc, if you're not sure how to hook up a drive to a pc and get it to read via windows, then there is much to learn ;-) and YouTube is your best FREE way to learn.

but also you could swap the board inside the drive into another drive of the same type, for example if its Samsung then put the board in another Samsung drive and see if it works.

But E65 does point to a drive that has not got the key matched to the xbox360 motherboard, and if you have lost the original key then there is no way to fix this as each drive is married to each individual xbox360.

Hope this has helped in some way

Everytime I turn on the console it shows a E64 or E65 code

This is caused by a problem with the DVD drive. One cause is the tray not being completely closed when you turn it on. Another, more likely cause, is that the person who returned this console tried to hack the DVD drive firmware to play burned games and broke the console. If so, return it and ask for another one. Hope it helps!

E65

E65: DVD Drive Error.... DVD Timeout, Wrong firmware, dvd is without f/w chip, etc. This can also be caused by the tray not being fully closed on boot.

E65

This error is due to a dvd drive error. Hopefully, your problem is that the dvd drive is not completely closed when you boot the console. Make sure it is completely closed and that nothing is jammed in there that is preventing it from closing all the way. Otherwise, it is bad news because you probably have a bad hard drive or firmware.

Xbox 360 update

Hi,
i,m assuming that you have a hard-drive, and this is a premium x-box 360 ?
it,ll only work with the hard-drive attached.
If you go to xbox.com theres all the information you need there.
you have 3 options. 1 is to update via x-box live.
2. you can download the file, and burn the image.
3. order a disk via mail.
If you have any problems, obtaining the CD. please leave me your e-mail address here.
And i,ll send you 1 FREE Of charge.
If you don,t have a hard-drive. thats definately the problem.

E65 Error Message....

you also might check your firmware is up to date.. if you have the 3 year extension for your 360, i would also suggest calling them too but from what i know from my own experience is to update the firmware on it too and then see is it works.. you can just download that firmware to a disc and put it into the 360 to update it.. hope this helps, thx..d
