What is the difference between windows 7 editions: starter, home basics, home premium, ultimate, professional, interprice?what is the difference between service pack 1 & 2???pc

Since October 31, 2013, Windows 7 is no longer available in retail (except for the Professional edition preinstalled):[6]
Windows 7 Starter Windows 7 Starter is the edition of Windows 7 that contains the fewest features. It is only available in a 32-bit version and does not include the Windows Aero theme. The desktop wallpaper and visual styles (Windows 7 Basic) are not user-changeable. Microsoft originally intended to restrict users of this edition to running three simultaneous applications but this limitation was dropped.[7]This edition was available pre-installed on computers, especially netbooks, through system integrators or computer manufacturers using OEM licenses.[1][8][9] Windows 7 Home Basic Windows 7 Home Basic was available in "emerging markets", in 141 different countries.[10] Some Windows Aero options are excluded along with several new features.[1] Home Basic, along with other editions sold in emerging markets, include geographical activation restriction, which requires users to activate Windows within a certain region or country.[11] Windows 7 Home Premium This edition contains features aimed at the home market segment, such as Windows Media Center, Windows Aero and multi-touch support.[12] Windows 7 Professional This edition is targeted towards enthusiasts and small-business users.[1] It includes all the features of Windows 7 Home Premium, and adds the ability to participate in a Windows Server domain.[1] Additional features include support for up to 192 GB of Random-access memory (increased from 16 GB),[13] operating as a Remote Desktop server, location aware printing, backup to a network location, Encrypting File System, Presentation Mode, Software Restriction Policies (but not the extra management features of AppLocker) and Windows XP Mode.[1] Windows 7 Enterprise This edition targeted the enterprise segment of the market and was sold through volume licensing to companies which have a Software Assurance contract with Microsoft.[1] Additional features include support for Multilingual User Interface(MUI) packages, BitLocker Drive Encryption, and UNIX application support.[1] Not available through retail or OEMchannels, this edition is distributed through Microsoft Software Assurance (SA).[1] As a result it includes several SA-only benefits, including a license allowing the operating of diskless nodes (diskless PCs) and activation via VLK.[14] Windows 7 Ultimate Windows 7 Ultimate contains the same features as Windows 7 Enterprise, but unlike the Enterprise edition, it was available to home users on an individual license basis.[1] Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 7 Professional users are able to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate for a fee using Windows Anytime Upgrade if they wish to do so.[1] Unlike Windows Vista Ultimate, the Windows 7 Ultimate edition does not include the Windows Ultimate Extras feature or any exclusive features as Microsoft had stated.[1] All editions will receive Mainstream Support (new features and bug fixes) until January 2015 and Extended Support (security updates) until January 2020.[15]

SIIG (JU-P50212) USB 2.0 Network Adapter

If you did a fresh install of Windows 7, make sure you install Windows 7 SP1.

A lot of Windows 7 drivers were not included in the original release.
http://windows.microsoft.com/installwindows7sp1

The manufacturer does not list a specific driver for this card( although it does list it as being Windows 7 compatable) so likely you will find it by updating Windows 7.

Hi - I had vista home premium on my lenovo laptop - installed win 7 and learned now that win 7 is not supported thus have driver problems - problem is vista original software I do not have on the original...

you need the OEM disk from ibm to put vista back on.

best thing to do is keep 7 in the laptop, but you need internet access on the laptop get a usb wire/wireless card for the laptop and let windows update find the drivers and fix it.

Wedcam no es compatible con windows home servis pack 3

Not compatible or not working well with windows 7?

Maybe, It doesn't work because the driver/application you installed is for other versions of operating system. I am also using windows 7 like you so don't you worry, You can still use your old installer/driver from other versions of operating systems. Just remember that before installing any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer first, then choose "troubleshoot compatibility". This will allow you to choose on what type operating system your program will run. Just reply back if it still doesn't work.:D rate and vote for me:)) julyallan01_37.jpg

Can i install windows 7 on hp 530 core duo

Yes, you can install Windows 7 on Hp 530 series Notebook. But HP doesn't release any drivers for your notebook for Windows 7.

You install Windows 7 and try to install drivers which are meant for Windows Vista.

If you are trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate or bussiness edition then try to install Windows vista bussiness driver (32-bit).

you can download the driver from the link below

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3375995&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=3375953&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=2096

If you are trying to install Windows 7 Home edition then try to install Windows vista Home driver (32-bit).

you can download the driver from the link below

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3375995&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=3375953&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=2094

Remember to check whether the Windows 7 is 32 bit not 64 bit version.

Most probably all the drivers will work fine as 90% of the drivers which are meant for windows Vista works fine with windows 7.

Even if you have miss out some drivers or not able to install, you can download "Driver Genius Pro" using the link below

http://hotfile.com/dl/9305335/2e7a110/29Genius.rar.html

It's full version and you will be able to update or download the lastest drivers from the manufacturer sites directly using that software.

Hope you enjoy Windows 7.

Windows xp home edition reinstall

If you use his disk, that will be better, because if it is original HP disk, it should install all original drivers at all, however this may delete all files on the computer depending on the type of installation you do.

Installing an older version of XP home does not make a big difference , as windows will update the system using automatic updates. What must be done, is ensuring that all proper drivers are installed.

Check device manager, in control panel/system, and see if all devices are installed with proper drivers.

Cannot complete installation of windows xp home edition

Have you added or changed your computer's hardware since you purchased your computer? Your Dell reinstallation disk will probably only work for the original configuration of your machine. If this is the case, dust off your old parts, remove your newer parts, then reinstall your old ones to get your system back to its original configuration. Once there, try the reinstallation again.
If this does not apply to you (or you can't get it to work), you can always purchase the operating system new (from newegg, tigerdirect or similar) and install from a disk that will have all of the drivers you need. OEM versions are cheapest, but you are on your own for support in the event of a problem. I hope this helps.
