Question about Computers & Internet
It's the quiet little war between Windows and HP you're in the middle of. HP has updates that are specifically designed to alleviate this problem, but sometimes they don't show up automatically right away after the install. So, you need to go to the HP listing in your Start Menu in all programs and see if you can update from there first. Failing a link for that there, look to the HP Solution Center that would have loaded with the full version software.
Sometimes, also, and install may just not "take hold" properly. When this is the case, you need to uninstall completely and reinstall the printer.
1. Uninstall the printer from the Control Panel and restart the computer
2. This is very inportant. HP leaves temp files even after an uninstall that will defeat and corrupt a clean reinstall unless removed. So, after reboot, hold down the WIndows Logo key on the keyboard and press the R key. In the "run" window type %temp% and your temp files folder will appear. Select all items in the folder and hit the delete key. Allow Windows to leave the files it says are in use (skip them). Close the temp file window.
3. Reboot your computer with the printer NOT attached. Run the install software and only attach the printer when prompted. Complete the install.
4. Seek out and install any updates for HP and run WIndows update as well.
This exact order is what I use professionally, and it has not failed me yet.
