A fan has nothing to do with the issue. In my opinion, I would definately send it for repair, to avoid future problems. The other comment is just agreeing with what you asked.

My son put a code in parental control in his xbox original then he forgoted his code so the disc tray of his xbox wont open

It's not the fan . It's ether the C.P.U and or the G.P.U. has lost
it's thermal seal with the heat sink , or the G.P.U temp feed connection has become intermittent ( disconnected) from the main
board . Recommendations are first have a shop remove and
reapplie heat sink compound . If it still over heat then a re-flow
of booth chips should remedy the problem.
