Question about Protron PLTV-32 Television
I turn on the TV, the indicator light goes green, the backlight comes on, but no picture, after you turn it on that way, (using the "button" on the tv, the remote dosen't seem to do anything), you can only turn it off by switching the main switch on the back next to the power input. I tried what the tech support said about "letting it sit idle unplugged for 30 minutes or more, then turn on with remote only and hold power button for 8 - 10 seconds", which i think is a load of bullsh*t, i think it's just to get you off the phone.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know..
If your TV is a year old or more, chances are that the power supply is starting to fail on your TV, causing all kinds of erratic behavior up to the point of not turning on anymore.
I service these power supplies since it does not look like there are many service parts available anymore. The only way to get this TV functional again is to repair the power supply to the component level.
