Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-w5 "MEMORY Stick LOCKED" ??? please help!


I own the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-w5 Digital Camera, i have not used it in some time, now I am getting a message telling me "Memory Stick Locked" preventing me from operating the camera, i can not save or take pictures etc... If you would have any advice on this matter it would be greatly appricated. Thanks in advance!!!

    I have a fairly new sony cyber shot dsc-wx50 that keeps showing memory full or no memory card in camera. Memory card is new sandisk 16 gb with 5 pictures on it.. Please help!

Take your memory stick out of your camera and theres this sliding thing on the back...slide it so that its not on the lock side? does that make any sense? well..good luck!

Sony Cybershot DSC W5 only supports Memory Stick and Memory Stick PRO. So, in order to use your micro SD card, you will need to insert your micro SD card to a memory stick adapter like this:

You can try your card to another camera or a car reader to see if it works all right then you can know if there is something wrong with your camera or card

may be batteries you brought are old try with normal ( not rechargeble ) batteries. it would not last long but you can take atleast 30 to 50 photos. if it works it means new batteries are faulty.this type of problem i never saw in camera.use SANYO harmolattice HR-3UQ batteries.

To delete all files in one click, please format memory card as this will delete all data at once.
Format option is available in camera Menu.

Unable to copy pictures from memory stick to the pc
This due to a malfunction in the software your usin to to download the photos.May be because your file no. is reseted.The best way is to connect the pc to your machine.When the software pops in close it down.Manually go to my computer and access the photos from the memory card or camera which appears as a memory storage device

My flash doesn't work? how do i turn it on?
Have you tried resetting your camera? Powerdown and take batteries out. Then hold "power" button for 30 seconds, release and repeat couple of times.
