If there is long beep it means you have problem in your memory.

  • To fix this type of problem, Remove RAM clean its connection point and place it again. If still problem then you should try new RAM.

Thanks

If you have beeps like "beep- beep-beep" "beep-beep".

Means you have promlem with your display adopter.

    • Go to BIOS setup make On Board Display Disabled.

    • Use a PCI VGA card in any one of your PCI slot.

    • Then connect monitor to this card.

    • And boot, It will work.

And friend don't make ratings till your problem resolves. Because negative ratings made our average down. If you have problems just put a comment as you have posted and I will try best to resolve.

    Thanks

    ok

    • Use PCI VGA/Display card, then try to go BIOS to disable onboard VGA. Actually if you left it Enabled it might cause conflict to your windows when yo will install driver for VGA/Display.

And please if it helps you then rate as HelpFull and if it resolve your problem then rate Fixya..Otherwise post comments I will try to answer you.

    kanitikar1,

The on-board VGA/Display means there is chipset mounted on your motherboard for display.

The PCI card means a PCI card which you can insert in PCI slot of your motherboard.

Now if you don't have on-board VGA/Display and you are already using PCI VGA/Display card, then remove it and clean the connection point and put it again in the slot. Then try out if no luck then try to use other PCI slot if you have other on the motherboard, if still no luck then try another PCI VGA/Display card.

If you have on-board VGA/Display card then get a PCI card and try to do the things I told.

    Good Luck

Is the screen completely dead?

If not then go tp the BIOS setup screen by pressing F1 or F10. Wait 5 seconds. Press the F5 key to restore the default settings of the BIOS. Press Enter to accept the change and wait five seconds. Press the F10 and then the Enter key to save the changes and exit from the BIOS.

OR

If possible, connect the monitor to another computer that is known to work correctly. Connecting the monitor to a different computer helps determine if the problem is with the monitor or with the video display hardware (the video card).

Not even by far - that card is an antiquity that can't run even Windows 2000. You need something much better, like

Yep, problem is with the video card. If it's a desktop you can pull the video card out and install reseat it back into the motherboard to see if that fixes the problem.

Ensure that the power button is pressed and the monitor is plugged in correctly. If ok, then the installation was stopped while installing your video drivers. If possible use another monitor to re-load the xp operating system until completed. Once the video monitor drivers are loaded the monitor will work again. Let me know if you have any questions.

Upgrade cpu on pavilion 6630

i am suggesting you the solution keeping in mind that there is no display is on the monitor.
The max ram that HP Pavilion 6630 PC Desktop can support is 256 mb pc 100 or pc 133mhz.
check if you have installed that amount of ram, if thats correct then check if any continues beep sound is coming out of CPU.

if there is beep try to change the ram slot.the more possibilty i either the new ram is faulty or incompatibel.

try to install the old ram see if it works. if still no display.

install old cpu and heat sink.see what happen ..

then let me know the result.

bye & take care..

Boot up problems

If it won't go past the splash screen, and you have replaced the CPU, I agree that it is probably the motherboard.
One other test you can do is, remove the memory chips, and any cards that are plugged it, and see if it beeps on start up.
If it does, count the beeps. If it doesn't it is the motherboard.
If you get beeps, plug the memory back in, and try again. Listen for beeps. Let us know what you find.

And I don't know if Compaq's do this (Dells do) when you turn it on, do the fans spin up normally? Or does it sound like a small jet? Speaking of which, do you see the fans spin up at all?
