Question about Computers & Internet
You can get a tutorial from HP: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=57956 . Click on the How To link.
Using the scanner depends slightly on the OS that you are using. XP has an option that allowed you to scan from the computer using Paint. Most of the time you will use the HP software. If the monitoring program is working you can use the buttons on the scanner itself. Check that the HP PrecisionPro program is the destination in the LCD Screen (or at least no other program is listed). Use the Select Destination button to change this. Place your document face down on the glass or face up in an ADF. Press the Scan To button (with the ScanJet Copy utility closed) and the program (HP PrecisionScan Pro) will open and will select the optimal settings (you can modify them) Next you will see a preview image, to adjust the area to scan click in one corner of the desired image and drag the mouse to the opposite corner. This will form a dotted square around the desired image. When you are done adjusting the image, press the Print button.
I hope this helps.
