The part number (I think) is RDE14277. The description is a dial gear. Unfortunately that part is no longer available.

I am looking to find an English version of the operators manual for the Panasonic CD-Stereo System SC-PMX2. Can you help? Thanks

I had some trouble finding a manual but the nearest match I could find was for model SC-PM12. Please take a look at the following link. If it looks like the right one then you can download a free copy from there. Fingers crossed... :o)

I have Radioshack wireless headphones with a 30 foot range. I cannot hook them up to my new Panasonic Viera 42 inch HD T.V. - The "audio outlet" is a square and the headphones only have red and...

hi there.

At present, the square connector is what is called an "Optical" connector.  It's purely digital and transmits digital data via what looks to us like a RED LIGHT.  Your headphones are incompatible. Your heaphones have an analog connection on RCA Phono type connections.  The type you usually get on the back of hifi equipment.

The pannasonics DO have a headphone socket, but it is the small 3.5mm type socket.  a small round hole that looks slightly larger than a pin head.  It normally has a small diagram of a pair of headphones above or below the socket to indicate what it is.

In order to connect your headphones to your set you will need a stereo, male 3.5mm jack to two RCA Phono jacks.

If your current lead on your headphones has "male" ends, the red and white ends should have silver or gold points sticking out.

If your current lead on your headphones has "female" ends, the red and white ends should have silver or gold surrounds with holes in.

With this in mind, if you have male ends you will require a stereo 3.5mm jack to stereo female Rca Phono vice versa so that they basically lock into eachother forming a "Constant chain".

I have tried to explain this as best I can, I hope you've managed to get the idea of what I'm saying.

You will either need this :

or this :

Sometimes the colours of connectors vary.  Just remember that Red to Red (for right hand side)  and White to White or Black To White  or Black To Black (for left)

Im looking for a spare part of a stereo system with the following details: Model No. CD-SW300H Serial No. 70103738 Part needed: Transforma. Can you help?

The transformer is not listed as a replacement part. The only listing I found from my distributors were for the powe board in its entirety. This board costs over $200 and would likely make the repair exceed the value of the unit. It is rare for a transformer to fail. Are you sure the transformer is the defective part? Can you describe the problem with the unit?

I get an error code F61 on a CD Stereo System SA-PM11

This is a protection indication. Either the power amp pac is defective or the power regulator circuit is faulty. In either case you are looking at about $40-$50 in parts plus the local labor rate for the repair.

F 71 error

I work at an authorized Panasonic repair center and I think the error code you have may be an "F61" not an "F71".

I have never seen an "F71" so I looked it up in several Panasonic service manuals and could not find an "F71".

The "F61" error is an amp or power supply failure. If this is the error code you are getting, try these two things first.

1. Disconnect the speakers and then turn it on.
If the unit turns on without an error code, you have a bad speaker.
If not, try step 2.

2. Resetting the unit could help, but it is unlikely. Unplug it from the wall outlet for about an hour and then plug it back in. This will reset the microprocessor.

The "F61" error It is a common problem with many different Panasonic receivers.

Your best bet is to take it to an authorized Panasonic service center.

The repair on this type of failure can cost anywhere from $75 all the way up to and over $200, it just depends on the exact problem that is causing it.
If you have a shorted output amp IC it can be on the costly side because some of Panasonics amp IC's cost over $100 just for the part.

If you are a technician and need help troubleshooting it, please give me the model number of the unit and I can tell you of several different things to check.

If you are not a technician with good soldering skills and the proper equipment, there is really nothing else you can do to fix this unit.

You must decide if the cost to repair it is worth it, compared to the cost of a new unit.

If you decide to purchase another unit to replace this one, let me know what type of unit you are looking for and I can advice you on picking out something a little more reliable.

Panasonic makes great car stereos, some of the best. But the home stereo equipment they make is really not up to the same standard. I have been repairing them for over 17 years and I know them very well. For the same price range you can do much better with another brand.

I hope this helps you to either fix this, or to make a better informed decision o what to replace it with. If so, a good rating would really be appreciated.

Thanks, and have a great day,

My Panasonic CD player wont play any of my CD's and its a Panasonic CD Stereo System Model No.SC-ak610

Does it try to read the CD's are they spinning, if so it may need the laser lens cleaning. Or the rails that the little sledge that the laser moves backwards and forwards on may need cleaning and regreasing.
