Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer

2 Answers

Cartridge jam Hi, My HP 6110 office jet says I have a cartridge jam.  It says to open the door, clear the jam then press enter.  When I open the door, nothing happens, in other words, the cartridges stay off to the side, and there does not appear to be a jam.  I tried turning off the machine for a day, but when I turn it back on, the same message appears, and it cannot do anything. Any ideas? Thank you VERY MUCH! Bonnie

I can't beilieve I just had this same problem and fixed it!! I have a HP 7310 all-in-one.

The problem is with the encooder strip. It is the plastic ribbon that attaches to the printer cartrdige and carries the data. If it is like mine it is all gunked up with ink dust etc from years of use.

Unplug the printer then gently and thoroughly clean both sides of both ribbons with a damp paper towel and dry with a dry paper towel. Then plug in and you should be good to go.

Good luck. It worked for me.

Can you move the move the ink cartridges from side to side with your hand, either the head cleaning mech has jammed or the carriage has come off the drive belt, either way, its a repair to be done in the workshop, if its even worth repairing

Printer says "Open Door Clear Cartridge Jam" How

You might wanna try removing and reinserting the cartridges and make sure that they are properly fitted in.
Sometimes cleaning the cartridge and the carriage where you took out the cartridges from with a damp lint free cloth does the trick.
If you still have that message, open the cartridge access door.
If the carriage is stuck at the right side of the printer, move the carriage to the left side by hand. If it's stuck on the left side, try moving it by hand in the right side of the printer. Then while the printer is turned on, unplug it from the wall outlet and then plug it back in.
If the printer does not turn on, use the power button.
Try printing again.

Does the office jet 8500 have a power reset button ? paper jamed, i removed the paper but now nothing happens

Hi,

Check the following Steps to fix HP Printer Carriage Jam :

Open the print carriage access door. Check for any packing material that may be blocking the internal components. Check for an orange shipping lock that may still be in place on the left side. Pull the shipping lock out, if present, and discard.

Remove and reinstall the cartridges to make sure they are properly installed. Lift the front center of the print carriage access door to open it. Lift the door up until it locks into an open position. Press down on a print cartridge and allow it to spring back up. Lift the cartridge out of the printer. Do the same for the other cartridge. Slide the black cartridge into the slot on the left and the color cartridge into the slot on the right. Press down on each one to lock it into place. Lower the print carriage access door.

Check the print cartridges to make sure the protective tape has been removed from the ink nozzles. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Remove any tape or labels. Replace the cartridges into the printer.

Push in on the tab on the left side of the clean-out door on the back of the printer to open the door. Lift the door out of the printer. Check for any paper jams. Jammed paper can block the printer cartridge carriage from moving. Pull any jammed papaer out.

I am receiving an error message on my HP Officejet 6110 printer screen that prevents the printer from functioning. The message is "Open door. Clear carriage jam and then press enter." I've tried opening...

yes, that is a carriage jam and not paper, the grinding is from the clean station that gets blocked with dried ink and cant move. you need to open the printer and clean the ink off of the clean station so it can clean properly and not cause a carriage jam.

Where is the ink cartridge located on the HP office jet 6110 prin

if you are to lift the top part of your printer you will see the cartridges inside as shown below:

Lifting the scanner bed exposes the entire paper path and gives your hands plenty of space to replace ink or clear paper jams.

Cartridge jams

remove the cartridge and directly off the printer let the carriage remain in center.then with your hand manually move the carriage from left to right.3 to 4 times.then on the printer and insert the cartridge after cleaning it with dry tissue.then check out.also in the back side of the printer there is access door to remove the paper if jammed so check out there also if any paper jammed.
thanks.
