SOURCE: I have a 30" viking designer range and am getting

I would be very careful in any situation where you smell gas. Do not use this range until you can be sure that unburned gas is not building up in the area.
How old is this range?
It sounds like when a burner is on, although there is gas burning, there may be some escaping unburned at or around the operating burner or burners.

Viking range burners not getting gas

Each burner has to have verification of ignition from the spark ignitor. If all burners will not light I would say it must be the control. Here is your Viking stove manual

We are in need of a Tech Manual for a VGRT5364G conversion from LP to Nat. Gas. Thanks

Manual exist in the location: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Viking-Range-VGRT536-4G-Ranges-manual/id/23666dj391/t/2/

It clearly mentions that:
"A certified
technician is required for any adjustments or conversions to Natural or LP gas."

So pls dont' try unless you already know (and it seems that you don't)
Safety comes 1st!

How do I replace a broken stem on the griddle knob of a forty-eight inch Viking range?

You would remove all of the knobs and then you remove the screws holding the face panel on there. Then you can access burner valves. The new part may not come with a preset orifice because the factory does not know which type of gas you have. So what they do is tighten the orifice all the way down. Lets see if I have a viking service manual:

Have a Viking range, gas top, electric oven, neither work.

Check connector block where electric is brought into stove for loose or burnt wires. Check Breaker in house power box. Push the breaker firmly to off and then return to On position. Read owner's manual to see if ignitor circuit has a fuse and check said fuse.

Viking pro gas range propane conversion

Sounds like your range is set up for the wrong kind of gas, or, in the case of LP, your installer failed to make the necessary adjustments once it was hooked up. First step is to insure that you have the proper range for type of gas you are using. If not, the orifices for all surface and oven burners will have to be changed out. That should be done by a qualified service technician.

Viking range - no way to simmer

There is a conversion kit to convert the range from natural gas to propane, it is possible that it was not installed or not installed at the time of purchase. There is a part in the regulator that has to be switched from one gas type to another as well as individual burner orafices that have to be changed. You should have the point of purchase service verify that this has been done correctly. The complete information should be in your owners and installation manual or available directly from the viking website.
