When one tries to rec. it says: DISK ERROR PLAYBACK FEATURE MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE ON THIS DISK

Emerson DVD player won't play my dvd's. it says playback option not available, eject and try again. arrrg!

I have tried every DVD-R sold by walmart, I also bought the unit there, they have changed all there DVD's among alot of other things they sell. None of the DVD's work, it gives me the same warning also says it may damage the unit. Please help!
