Monitor black screen

Monitor is black screen A couple of weeks ago I started having a problem with my MAG INNOVISION 19" WIDE LCD MONITOR. I would turn it on, move the mouse and the screen would go black. If I reboot it, the screen will not stay on - it keeps going black and if I turn the monitor off and then back on I get an all black screen after about three seconds. HELP! HELP! HELP!!

I experienced a similar problem with my MAG LT776s. As a "band-aid" fix, I have found that if I turn the monitor brightness to near zero my problem is minimized. Meaning - the monitor goes on after a little wait (~ 20 sec) and will stay on.

The trick is to turn the brightness down when the monitor is black and you cannot see the screen menu. In my case I:
- turned the power off and then back on again. This allowed the monitor to be on for about a second when I can press Menu and see that the manu had actually come on.
- the menu will start in the brightness setting. Even if the monitor had gone off by now, press menu again to enter into the brightness setting.
- press Down button many times to ensure the brightness is down all the way or nearly all the way since you will not be able to see the setting now that the monitor is off.
- press Menu button again to leave the setting menu.
- Turn off, then back on again.
- worked for me - monitor came on and stays on.

Your first step in troubleshooting this problem is to plug in another monitor to your computer. If you are having the same problem it is related to your computer. If the second monitor works fine then your original monitor is shot.

Once the 4 screw at the bottom of the screen has been removed the frame surrounding the lcd should slide up and away. The display itself is fastened to the plastic back by 6/8 screws be careful when removing the lcd screen since it is still attached to the electronics in the back by cable connectors!

My mag Innovision flat lcd monitor is blank after 3 seconds..

It is not easy. I slip a knife in the bottom edge and slowly work my way around the bottom opening it a little by little. Once you get the bottom and part of each side you can push the plastic towards the top and it will pop off. There are plastic clips holding the bezel down. I always break a couple on opening, but at least the monitor gets fixed. This is not made to open, so good luck.

Hi..there,
The lamps has nothing to do with it... what you need a new backlight inverter or repaired it by replaced a couples of bad capacitors... Sound easy... right! Not so... It's not always the caps problems.

the monitor has bad backlights or circuitry. Call the company, their number should be in the owners manual. Or, look on the web for their website. Or, call the store where you bought it. The monitor must be taken to a service centre for repair.

Monitor won't turn on

Hi this is the way how to examine what's wrong with your LCD monitors. Power on both CPU and monitor. You have to check that you can see the image on the screen by shining a flashlight into the screen, not directly but find the best angle to the screen and take a look very closely. If you can see the icons or any image, there will be a minor problem. This is because of lamps inside. Some of them were broken and it is easily replaced. If you cannot see anything on the screen, there'll be some problems with inverter board.
