I got the fEE symbol on my newly bought N60 camera body. What does it mean??

It means the lens aperture ring isn't locked. Turn it to its smallest setting (largest f/number) and lock it if the ring has a lock. You control the aperture from the camera body, just as you would with a lens without an aperture ring.

If you need a manual, you can download one from

Fee error, Nikon N60

Are you using a Nikon "d" lens? on my D70 Fee means that the lens apeture is not set to minimum. If you have an apeture ring, set it to minimum.

FE E error for the nikon N60

This is normal if you're using a non-CPU lens -- you'll have to shoot in Manual (M) mode.

If it is a CPU lens, try cleaning the contacts and reattaching. Give it a little wriggle to make sure the contacts are engaged.

My Nikon N60 35 mm camera shows the fEE message

Your lens is not set to the smallest aperture (highest number). Turn the camera off, rotate the aperture ring so the largest number is lined up with the mark on the top, push the aperture lock tab, and turn the camera back on. The aperture ring is the one closest to the camrea body with numbers like 4, 5.6, 8, 11 etc on it. The largest number will be 16, 22, or 32 for most lenses.  If it still doesn't work, turn off, remove & replace the lens, and recheck the aperture ring setting.

Unable to take picture

I don't know if there is a mirror lock up button on this camera or not. Some have it for slow exposes. Nikon does have a technical phone number or place on their website to contact them. I had a D100 that had the ERR message show up on it, and it cost $400 to repair. But look for the mirror lock button.

My Nikon N60 shows an error code "FEE" when I turn it on. What's it mean; how to fix or get past it? Thanks, Ed

This usually happens if the lens you mounted on it has an aperture ring and the aperture is not set to its smallest opening (the largest number)

Nikon N60 fEE Issue

First of all, you can download a manual from here.

Basically, with certain types of lenses you need to set the aperture ring on the actual lens to its minimum setting (f22 or f32). Once it is set here, the camera can then control the aperture. It's covered on page 16 of the manual.

Hope this helps,

Matt

Help me PLEASE Nikon N60

All you need to do, to correct this, is set your lens to highest F-stop number ( 16 or 22 ) and the FEE signal will disappear. Also note that you should lock this setting in ( on the side of the lens after you turned it to F 16/22) .
