New board you wont find that piece of plastic anywhere, I might be able to extract one from an old board I have here but it will probably break as well

My ds touch screen doesnt want to work

it can be a connection come loose inside the ds. theres a ribbon that is held in by a lil black plastic slide that pushes under the ribbon which clamps it in to place which means then pushes it against the connection. an it might have simply came out and now the screen has come on but the "touch" part of it wont work. i know this as i fixed my own on my ds. its very easy to fix if you know what your doing.

My ds can't calibrate the touch screen

Touch screen might need to be replaced OR the ribbon cable might have gotten loose/ the little black connector for the ribbon cable of the touch screen (not bottom lcd screen) might have gotten loose. I wouldn't recommend opening your DS up. I did that and I broke several things trying to replace my casing. Just try to send it in to a repair service, most of them do it for around 15~20 dollars.

Touch screen wont respond

double check that both cable/ribbons are connected properly to the motherboard, the small thin ribbon which curls over the top of the motherboard is the one which powers and reads the touch screen so double check this!!
if this is all in fine then im sorry to say your touch screen is broken and will need replacing!

Did you ever get your touchscreen to work again for your DS?

check to make sure the ribbon is in all the way. there are 4 prongs on the clamp for the touch screen, the one to the right no. 4 this controls the upper right side of the touch screen. ribbon must be in straight

Reseating Touch Screen Ribbon Cables

The cable for the touchscreen is one with 4 conductors that connect directly to the overlay on the face of the LCD. The flat ribbon connector on the main board is quite delicate. The three connectors for the bottom screen are on the right side of the component side of the DS phat board. The touchscreen is labeled P6. On the DS Lite, the connector is closer to the R button.

Good Luck

Nintendo ds damaged ribbon cable

You can't buy a ribbon for the bottom screen. (You can buy the ribbon that connects the motherboard to the daughter board which connects the top screen.). A new screen is the answer but be very careful when taking off the touch screen. Gently pry the two screens apart or else you will need a new touch screen. Also make a note of how the touch screen is attached to the LCD screen, as the touch screen is not the same size as the LCD screen. How have you damaged the ribbon? Could it be that it may not be pushed tight and straight into the connector? BTW the top and bottom LCD screens are the same. Some unscrupulous dealers have been charging differing amounts for 'Top' or 'Bottom' screens!
