Question about Manitowoc Refrigerators

Open Question

Model SY0304A Shut the machine off for cleaning, vacuumed the water out of the tray, put cleaning solution in and put it on cleaning cycle. Machine would not take in any water. Filled the tray manually and machine ran, until out of water again. Put it on Ice harvest cycle , machine would produce 3-4 batches in 24 hours. Can the waterline be airlocked? Is there any purching procedure? Can the machine be reset (by unplugging for a certain time?)?

SOURCE: Hoshizaki KM-450MAB Ice Machine

maybe not. it could be that the heating cycle is taking a lot of time to remove the ice from the evaporator that is why the electronics is shutting off the compressor as a protection. check the heating cycle if it is working fine. check the evaporator for dirt that would hold the ice slab from falling down quickly. check the level of the unit. it may have move and now its out of level. the unit must be leveled with the ground.

SOURCE: icemaker not producing ice

you need to troubleshoot the problem, if the wire arm that tells the ice maker to stop making ice when full is in the upright position the ice maker will not make ice. the problem has to be either the switch on this arm malfunction. but probably in MOST cases it is your electronic water valve which has gone out. this is located on the water supply line on the back of the fridge at the bottom probably behind some cardboard or plastic. it is the same kind of water valve as a dishwasher uses, if it malfunctions it will not deliver water to your tray, manually fill the tray and put the arm down, if the maker dispenses the ice out of the tray, chances are your electronic valve is broken.

SOURCE: Manitowoc ice machine that will not produce ice

This is odd that Manitowoc is listed on a page showing a Whirlpool refrigerator model and number. What is the model number listed on your Manitowoc? Not the base model number. The number listed inside the top section. Manitowoc has a really good service reputation. Their control boards have a series of self diagnostics. Get me your model and we will go from there. Machine won't spin all water aou of towels

Hi Natalie, don't know what machine you have but most machines have a drain pump filter behind a flap/door down at floor level. Try this for starters. Put machine on a rinse drain cycle, when finished unplug from mains try and get a tray under the pump (to catch the bit of water) and check, clean filter. Hope this helps.

Washing machine will not draw fabric conditioner

The Solution: Top up the softener tray with extra water so that it is up to the 'max level' mark.

The softener tray works by a siphon action. Thus, the reason the tray does not empty is that not enough water is added by the machine during the softening cycle, so that the machine does not completely fill the softening tray; only when the softening tray is filled beyond the 'max' mark does the siphon action works. A partially filled tray will never empty - it's impossible due to the siphon.

The reason that not enough water is added to the tray during the softening action is that the water inlet of the machine is partial blocked (you can try to fix that) but it is simpler to just added more water to the conditioner tray.

Thus, the easiest way to ensure that the softener tray empties every time (after adding the softener to the softener tray of course) is to top up the softener tray with extra water, top it up to the 'max level' line (keep a bottle of water by the machine). That way, even if only a little water is added to the softener tray during the softening cycle by the machine it is enough to trigger the siphon action and the tray will empty!

Works for me every time, and no need to remove any parts - I used to take the tray out, clean it, scrub the outlet holes that fill the tray etc, but they used to gum up again quite quickly!

Hope that helps

Make sure your water tank to fill, when you start the clean process, and the tray is empty and wiped down. Then add a 500ml container under the spout rather than let the water go into the tray.
Also if you have not serviced the machine for about 5,000 cups this can occur.

Dishwasher not washing

Check the very bottom tray under the machine. Remove the lower front cover, 2 screws, and you'll find a tray full of water.  A Turkey Baster will **** most of it out,  towel the rest.
Once dry, the machine will operate through all cycles, most likely.
This is a common problem with this model.  I have to do this about once a year.

Malfunction code 8 on Jura Impressa s8

To fix this problem you need to clean the layers and layers of coffee mud off the plates that dispense the spent grounds into the hopper. My suggestion is to do this major muck cleaning before you even put the cleaning tablet in.
Get a flashlight and pull the trays out and have a look at the mechanism that dumps into the hopper. You will see the layers of gunk that need to be scraped off. Easiest thing to get in there is a finger to start, then place it next to your sink and clean it with a water jet from your kitchen faucet, provided your faucet will allow you to do that. Let the runoff go into the sink of course. After you get it cleaned up, then put the machine through the cleaning cycle.
If you can't get the problem solved, the fix is a flat $200 from Capresso.
Call the number above to get set up with a service shipment, done in PA.

CONDITIONER NOT EMPTYING INTO MACHINE

have you tried cleaning the spray holes above the soap tray? if they get blocked up the water jets sideways and not into the conditioner tray. if it is blocked badly the header unit may need replacing. i dont think you have a water valve problem as you say some water is getting through.
